From the video above, Bro Eli emphasizesd that believing in our ancestors sometimes betrays the truth.
Ancestors can lead us away from God, they'll lead us to worship Idols and take us a path very far from God. However, there's someone God has appointed for us to listen to and believe.
Matthew, Chapter 17:5, it says
While he yet spake, behold a bright cloud overshadowed them, and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, this is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased, Here ye him.
It is the father in heaven, the creator of everything that exists, that recommends somebody whom he trusts. A teacher sent by him. And he said, this is my beloved son. In whom I am well pleased. Here ye him. This pronouncement from the Lord came when the apostle Peter was trying to persuade the Lord Jesus Christ to make 3 tabernacles one for Jesus, one for Moses and one for Elijah. Let us not hear anybody else anymore. Not Moses anymore. Not Elijah anymore because it is not the time of Elijah and Moses. Our dispensation is the time of the Lord Jesus Christ, a God sent teacher in whom we must believe.
Hebrews 1:1-2
God, who at sundry times and in diverse manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, hath in these last days spoken unto us by his son, whom he had appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the world.
The Lord God of heaven and earth spake to Adam, to Abraham, to Isaac, to Jacob. So God spoke to the prophets. But the Bible tells us in verse 2 that in these last days has spoken unto us by his son, whom he had appointed heir of all things. So, It is the person of the Lord Jesus Christ that the God of the Bible recommends, that we must hear. In obedience to the father, we must hear the Lord Jesus Christ. We must believe him, not unto our ancestors. Believing in your ancestors sometimes betrays the truth. Instead of guiding us to the truth, our ancestors may guide us to the path going to a place far from God.
So we should listen to Christ Jesus, who will teach is the commandments of God.
