Hello friends!
I'm glad for the opportunity to learn the word of God with you all.
In today's lesson, "What is Religion?", I learned the concept of true religion as defined in the Bible, with a focus on worshipping God in spirit and in truth. According to the preacher, true religion involves serving God in a way that is consistent with the teachings of the Bible.
James 12:6 states that a person's religion is vain if they speak carelessly. This suggests that true religion involves not just the outward practice of worship, but also the internal attitudes and behaviours that accompany it.
First Timothy 3:15, emphasizes the importance of the Church of God as a source of instruction for religious behaviour.
According to the preacher, the Church of God provides guidance on how to worship, behave, and interact with others in a way that is consistent with the teachings of the Bible. He also emphasizes the importance of worshipping God in spirit and in truth, as described in John 4:23-24. This involves not just performing outward acts of worship, but also having a genuine and sincere relationship with God.
The against worshipping false gods or idols, as this is considered a form of false or erroneous religion. Romans 1:25 and 1:23 both condemn the worship of creatures or idols which is a form of blasphemy against the true God of heaven.
The true religion involves more than just outward acts of worship; it also requires an internal commitment to following the teachings of the Bible and having a sincere relationship with God. Worshiping false gods is considered a form of false religion that is contrary to the true worship of our Creator.
Thank you!
