PEACE AND UNITY
The morning sun is shining brightly
The vegetations are green and lush
With morning dew sparkling on the leaves
Like crystal decorations.
But why is everyone silent?
Where are those fierce and brutal looking men?
Are they tired of hunting down men, women, and children?
Have they return back to sanity?
Or what am I hearing?
"Peace! Unity! Peace! Unity!
That is what am hearing
" We need to have it
Our hearts have hungered for it
We need that cord of peace to bind us in unity.
"What is peace?
Hear, hear, hear
Free from war, total freedom
Our children are free
Our women will no longer be molested
Nature can provide us with its brightness and calmness".
" Lets come together in peace
If the embers are quenched
Come and join me so we can rekindle it
Igbo lets do it
Hausa you are invited
Yoruba we need you to kindle the embers".
"Our fathers have fought for peace
United we stand, but we divided fall
Peace joins us together to be bonded in unity
Kindle the embers, let the flame be fueled
Together we can do it
Unity in diversity!
That was what I heard
Peace and unity!
This calls for our cooperations
Let there be unity in diversity.
