What living hell is this! Tina gasped. She has spent over 2 days in the hands of her captors and due to the thick darkness that envelops her day and night, coupled with the strong smell of decay, she is almost at the brink of losing her senses.
She felt as if she was interred in a grave, already buried for no sound reaches her except for occasional muffled sounds from without but it was too incoherent to make any meaning out of it.

The last thing she remembered was that she was walking down the alley behind cove avenue towards the busy road that linked her street to her office. Next thing, she felt a pair of strong hands grab her from behind, placed a handkerchief to her nose and she woke up in this living grave. She has received a couple of letters asking her to drop the charges against the famous drug baron and gangster boss, Don Nico but she waved them all aside. Has he made good his threat?
She has not even thought it wise to report to the police, she has felt so confident that she could nail him before he silenced her but it seems she has miscalculated. For decades, Don Mico has been a menace to the civil society of Dawn City. He trafficked young girls, import hard drugs and has shed much blood of mostly rivals and boys who doubled crosses him. As a teenager, Tina has gotten a fair share of his evil dealings. Her brother Jim has gotten a bullet in the head for threatening one of Don Mico's carriers around their street. He had been shot right in front of her. Seeing Jim lying there, soaked in his blood, Tina has vowed to nail the tyrant for good.
A series of squeaking drew her out of her day-dreaming. She paid close attention to the noise, Oh God! Rats! Pulling off her shoe, she held it close to her and lashes out at the floor whenever she felt the nimble feet of the rodents close to her. I hope i won't get eaten alive in this hell hole, she thought aloud.
Have you gotten her? Don Mico asked Lance his right hand man.
Yes Boss, she 's at the warehouse.
Lets go.
A loud creak outside the door roused Tina from her troubled sleep and before she could get a hold of herself, the door swung open.
She looked up but the blinding force of the lighted bulbs from the door made it impossible for her to see the face of the man standing on the doorway. She could only make out a fat man, on a three-piece suit and smokes puffing out of his mouth which she could perceive as tobacco.
Well well well, see who decided to pay us a visit eh. The honourable lawyer. Sorry for the rude welcome, your honor, you should have told us the court would be sitting today, we would have gotten everything in other. Don Mico gave a short mirthless laugh. I always told you little poke-noses that am not one of does inexperienced drug pushers you use as guinea pigs in your bid to climb up the ladder of fame. Am the system and the law here, i can make or marr you. I have warned you for so long and i think i have run out of patience. Its time to put you where you belong Miss, Don Mico said. Tina tried to look more intensely at the big man's face but the long hours in thick darkness has weakened her eyes and she can only faintly make out the outlines of the face.

You can bark all you like, she blurted out. But i promise you, you will hang for these. You will rot in jail and pay for your crimes! I will get out of this hole and you will go down! She shouted.
Don Mico gave a loud throaty laugh. You will first have to escape these rats, he pointed to the far end of the cell where the squeaking sounds
Were coming from and it has been a while they had their last meal. Has he said this last words, he flashed a light in the direction of the sound and Tina saw the white bones of a person with hundreds of the rats hovering over it. I believe they will be glad to have a hearty meal today, he laughed.

Bon appetit! With these last words he stepped out and the door was slammed shut. Tina felt nimble movements around her and she started beating around frantically all round her with her shoes. One of the giant rodents jumped unto her shoulders, she gave a loud shout and passed out.
Thank you officer, i thought that was the end of me, Tina said.
Thank that little boy over there instead Miss, he was the one who came to us and he also showed us to the warehouse where you were locked up, you owe him one, captain Clove said. With that he walked off. Tina knew she would win the fight against Don Mico. The lady she recently rescued from one of his pimps has a good pack of video tapes that will nail the Don for good. She smiled to herself, finally you will get your justice Jim, she thought aloud.
Tina walked up to the little boy, thank you for saving me, i owe you my life dear she said, extending her for a handshake. Just make sure he rot in jail piped the little boy, i want my Mum to get justice for the wrong he did to her. Who is your Mum and where is she? Asked Tina. Never mind he said, but i know she is resting up there with the angels he said, pointing at the sky with his little finger. Tina's eyes got misty and she managed to give him a smile. He turned round and walked off. What a turn of fate for me, Tina thought. What a fortune!
As she was about to turn around and head home she instantly remembered she did not ask the boy what his name was and where to find him later on.
What is your name bo?, she shouted after him.
Fortune! He piped back and you don't need to find me, i will show up when you need me, he said.
Tina smiled.
Fortune! She thought aloud.
Sure you are, she said.
Tina turned round and headed home smiling.
