Social Media Facts (Web2 /Web3)- Hive's Own Standing In The Spectrum
It is no wonder when we think of the idea of social media being so gorgeously included in the real life of ours. In the global context of the society, the value of social media usage is awesome, the way everything can be easily made into personalization.
I have quite for few days have been looking into it and experimented to let just live a few weeks of time, in search of limiting the use and being much focused on regular works that matter most in personal life. The reason of the idea was to settle in, not to be productive and be more of it.
Centralized social media like Meta, Instagram and X have been quite successful to hold the grip of the people to be more busy using it, sharing personal informations and data that is actively leaking into the pipeline and news feeds first and then storing onto the data base of the authorities or corporation.

Almost 99% of the Hive users here have one of these aforementioned social media holdings and the number is near to everything. What that means is having a full identity or the vital real life information into the centralized authority which has full control over these info's, and kind of indirectly controlling what a user wants to interact.
Now, what is to my own estimate that says, not more than 10% of the all 99% of the users have the learning acquaintances of the occurrences thats being tapped and that issues like privacy & access is happening which can be detrimental in many ways possible. But people have no visual concerns whatever.
I have quite limited my centralized social media usage, there are also reasons for that. It matters while the information is the power to be wealthy and access of it also matters in many ways. But the reality is also true that we cant live up to full expectations if we keep avoiding it since the concepts of businesses and monetization, economic and other activities are shaping it to gather more of revenues.
What web3 has provided us here has also other limitations we cant escape also. Not having the whole Transparency of who is using it and some of other users here also losing trust, some of irrational malpractices like downvoting,minimizing the proper distributions and whales being busy to carry coals to newcastles and large accounts are wider proof to that.
Also in Hive what I think that, all the other communities should have high usage and proper attentions to the whales and big accounts. Because it is the reward pool which can act as a solution to the problem being arousing.
Most certainly that hasnt happened as big numbers of people have joined Hive just like Meta or those popular brands, but to a fraction if increases as active users, the vital standing of the blockchain would increase soon. This much depends on the whales and community moderators choice, and the culture within.
It comes to me as if I think that,we have lot to see here on Hive, I see that it is way better than other centralized or decentralized forums. Because it not just have good solution to personal privacy but also holds good credibility of not handling over the power to access those information by a central authority to the fuller degree.
I hope a brighter day comes ahead of this cycle. Most of it depends on Hive price, user base and how the internal systems are being operated upon.
