In the beating of a wounded heart
hides a rancour that wounds in its oblivion.
It will not heal by keeping such poison,
the soul is released in its serenity.
Trying to heal with knife in skin,
irrational hope that wants to see
that cutting doesn't hurt once,
blood and pain, there where it suffers.
To remove heavy burdens from the soul,
resentment, guilt, constant walk
towards the light that forgiveness reflects,
healing wounds, calm in the complaint.
To forgive, to forget, difficult art,
at each step, a new part.
The gift of sincere forgiveness,
heals the heart, makes it whole.
