Working all day in the blistering sunshine is something this Yorkshireman isn’t used to.
I spent my time working mostly outside (and in a hot marquee) burning alive whilst filming a wedding in beautiful Brimmington, Cheshire.
My friend has a new(ish) wedding video business and he has a fair few weddings booked in so far; so I’ve been doing second-camera operator work for him when he needs me.
I’ve not any desire or interest in pursuing wedding filming as a form of income, but I’m always happy to turn up and shoot for my pal.
We follow the wedding itinerary throughout the day - the usuals moments; pre-ceremony, guests arriving, full ceremony, mingling/drinks, photos, more mingling/happy smiling people, bungee jumping (not really), dog shaving competition (definitely not really), cake, first dance, then disco.
It can be quite stressful with very long days; what with general setting up, timekeeping (or lack of)
and lugging heavy gear all day etc.
The blistering sunshine was immense which although looked great on camera it was a bonafide sweat-fest.
I’m doing another in two weeks....... I’ll remember the suncream next time :)
