We have seen many disturbing images of the sea life struggling with plastic pollution and how that plastic waste is damaging the eco system. I as a photographer think is my responsibility to show everyone how we are damaging the planet so that we learn from it and correct our mistakes.
It makes me extremely sad that how selfishly we have been polluting our environment no matter land water or air. Being an active bird watcher I visit a lot of wetlands and marshes where birds search for food and in some cases lay eggs. But many such wetlands are now nothing short of dumping grounds for urban populous.
I would like to share one such experience with you all.
(Black Winged Stilt bird standing in the polluted water)
My hometown is Meerut which is in Uttar Pradesh state of India. And is around 2 hours run from India's Capital, New Delhi.
I was roaming around with my camera one day, when I saw a small water body close to my house where many birds like Black Winged stilts, Green bee eaters, sandpiper, some swallows and eagret were scavenging for food. But that small body of water was extremely polluted so I started taking some pictures of the Black Winged Stilt which according to me was being very expressive about its disappointment towards the polluted water.
(It was my thought that the bird was expressive)

It feels sad to think about what have we done by forcing these beautiful Creatures to try and find food from such polluted waters. Imagine how badly this must be affecting the bird's health and it's habitat.

We as humans made a lot of mistakes but at the same time we as humans when United made a lot of things right. So by these images I don't mean to just show you how bad the situation is but to bring us all together to fight is long lasting plague of plastic waste.
