Hello, it’s another beautiful week, and as usual every week we get interesting topic from the ladiesofhive@ladiesofhive community. I got to see the first question and it stroked my heart and brought back memories. And the question is;

1️⃣ If you could change one thing about your personality, what would it be?

Growing up as a kid was really challenging for me, I was born with Strabismus also known as crossed eyes or half-past one like it is commonly called in my Country, Nigeria. It affected just my left eye, it’s was the Exotropia type and was not corrected. As I began to grow, I start to realize that my eyes was different from my siblings and non of family members had it (non that I know of) because I learnt it was hereditary due to my curiosity.

I remember those days in Basic school, I was different from my mate, I was bullied and abused, they would tease and laugh at my eyes. I would cry home to my mom and sometimes cry in the classroom and I was still crying writing this because it brought back those terrible feelings. My mom would be so helpless. It made me not to socialize because I always believed I would be laughed at and this affected my socializing personality so badly. Not Until one day I was at the verge for a surgery, I almost had an eye operation because it could be corrected by that and that was my only option as at then. But my Mom didn’t allow it. She just had the believe, she was hoping for a miracle and I wanted a change badly.

And as I continue to grow in hope, I began to see changes, not as bad as it was as a kid. I started doing patching but I couldn’t continue with it and I allowed it to become part of me by embracing myself, from teenage to adulthood. Then I realized how blessed I was with the most beautiful and sexy eyes ever LOL. Whenever I go out I surely get a compliment and admirers on how beautiful my eyes are, it was a blessing to me, it made me stood out. I am glad I didn’t do any surgery or change it in any form. Even sometimes, I forget that I have crossed eyes until I get a compliment about it and you wouldn’t even notice sometimes unless you look deeply into my eyes. And I also learnt how to control it.

The fact that I was unable to socialize then really affected my personality and that was the only thing I wished I could change. But now, I am I have learnt how to adjust to the personality.

Thank you #LOH for allowing me share this.
