In Splinterlands, winning battles can earn you a decent amount of rewards, especially if your account is upgraded. As your level increases your SPS earnings also continue to grow.
Keep in mind that you can play up to 50 battles per day and every victory rewards you with SPS token rewards... It is also important to understand that as your level advance you still receive SPS rewards even if you lose in a battle...
In short the more time you invest in the game then the more experience you gain and the greater your earning potential becomes. This game needs your time to provide a decent earning..
However it is also important to clear up a common misunderstanding. This game may not provide the level of income that many people expect from.. In my opinion Splinterlands is more of an interesting and strategic game than simply an earning opportunity.
This game is good for your brain which keeps it sharp. In this game you need to have adopt strategies, keep different powers and abilities in your mind and do use them during the battle.
Before jumping into competitive battles it is essential to fully understand the game mechanics. That is why completing all the campaign chapters is highly recommended.
I have personally been trying to explore each chapter and explain different game elements to all of you. Today, I decided to explore the Melee Attack chapter and explain what it teaches.
First of all, let me explain what melee attackers are. These are the monsters represented by the sword shaped attack icon, which indicates melee damage.
Most melee units are designed to fight from the front line, although some possess special abilities that allow them to attack from the back line or the second position.
In general, melee monsters are intended for the frontline. The term "melee" simply means close range combat and the stronger the monster’s melee power will be the more damage it deals to enemies every round.
To explore this chapter, simply go to the Campaign section, select Book One Warmage Academy and choose the Melee Attack chapter. You will first receive a brief introduction explaining melee attacks and after which the game asks you to enter the arena for a practice battle.
During this tutorial battle, you will have the opportunity to select melee monsters and observe how they attack and perform in combat.
One of the best features of completing campaign chapters is that you receive free card rewards. As you continue exploring and finishing each chapter, additional cards are gifted to you which can later be used in your battles.
When I completed this particular chapter and successfully won the battle, I received Wilhelmdale Deputy as a reward card. It is a 7 mana ranged attacker that can be very useful in many battles.
At Level 5 it has 3 ranged attack power allowing it to consistently pressure opponents every round making it a solid damage dealer. It also comes with 6 health and 2 speed giving it respectable survivability during battles.
Most importantly it possesses the excellent Snare ability. When a monster with Snare hits an enemy that has the Flying ability, the Flying ability is removed. This makes the target much easier to hit afterward.
Snare is especially valuable against flying monsters, particularly in rulesets such as Up Close & Personal or Earthquake, where Flying units often have a significant advantage. Including Snare monsters in your lineup under such conditions can greatly improve your chances of victory.
As for its market value, this monster is currently available at a very affordable price. A higher level version can be obtained for around $0.05, making it an inexpensive addition to your deck.
I hope this campaign helped you better understand melee attacks as well as the Wilhelmdale Deputy reward card. See you in the next blog.
