Hello friends of this beautiful community, today I want to show you a method that I use particularly for one of the most important parts of the illustration, I'm talking about "shading".
A shading done correctly can take a sketch to a new level, sometimes taking the drawing to give a very realistic effect, improving its appearance in a great way and although you do not want a very realistic effect, it is still of great importance how we implement this method.
Hola amigos de esta hermosa comunidad, el d铆a de hoy quiero mostrarles un m茅todo que uso particularmente para una de las partes mas importantes de la ilustraci贸n, estoy hablando del "sombreado".
Un sombreado realizado de manera correcta puede llevar un boceto a un nuevo nivel, llevando en ocasiones al dibujo a dar un efecto muy realista mejorando su apariencia de gran manera y aunque no desees un efecto muy realistas aun as铆 es de gran importancia del como implementamos este m茅todo.
Step by Step/Paso a Paso
Before we can apply any shading method we will need to have a sketch already done, even if it is something very basic that will serve as a guide for our illustration.
For this occasion I chose a female figure whose gaze was lost in a point outside our vision, a fixed gaze, a serene face, immutable in the face of any event.
Antes de poder aplicar cualquier m茅todo de sombreado necesitaremos tener un boceto ya hecho, as铆 sea algo muy b谩sico que nos sirva de gu铆a para nuestra ilustraci贸n.
para esta ocasi贸n eleg铆 una figura femenina cuya mirada estuviera perdida en un punto fuera de nuestra visi贸n, mirada fija, rostro sereno, inmutable ante cualquier acontecimiento.
Once we have our sketch ready, we proceed to add a little color, for this I used slightly opaque colors that are not very saturated, yellow and reddish colors that always complement each other in a great way.
Una vez que ya tenemos listo nuestro boceto procedemos a agregar un poco de color, para ello us茅 colores un poco opacos no muy saturados, colores de la gana de amarillos y rojizos que siempre se complementan de gran manera.
Once we already have the basic colors defined, we will start adding the shadows, for this occasion I shaded the entire illustration and then I erased little by little and added a little light and then I repeated the process a couple more times.
Una vez que ya tenemos los colores bases definidos empezaremos a agregar las sombras, para esta ocasi贸n sombree toda la ilustraci贸n y luego fui borrando de apoco para y agregando un poco de luz y luego repet铆 el proceso un par de veces mas.
At this point I need to reaffirm each of the shadows more, adding darker colors in the areas where there should be less light, taking into account our focal point of light.
En este punto necesito ir reafirmando mas cada una de las sombras, agregando colores mas oscuros en las zonas donde deber铆a haber menos luz, teniendo en cuenta nuestro punto focal de luz.
At the moment we start adding more and more shadows it is easy to lose the perspective of the illustration, it is always good to take a break and return to work once we are clear about what we want, at this point I continue adding darker areas as a final point .
En el momento que empezamos a a帽adir mas y mas sombras es f谩cil ir perdiendo la perspectiva de la ilustraci贸n, siempre es bueno tomar un descanso y retomar el trabajo una vez que tengamos claro lo queremos, en este punto sigo a帽adiendo zonas mas oscuras como punto final.
Having already finished the shading work, I proceed to add a layer of color on top that allows us to give more life to the illustration, using reds and yellows would give us a great result.
ya teniendo el trabajo de sombreado ya finalizado procedo a agregar una capa de color por encima que permita dar mas vida a la ilustraci贸n, usando rojos y amarillos nos dar铆a un gran resultado.
It is always very helpful to use reference images to start practicing shading and learning how light creates the shadows that we want to capture in our illustrations, and in this way we have finished our illustration for today, I hope you liked it, !! early
