With the arrival of the eid al-fitr this year, many basic foodstuffs have increased to double their previous price, and this increase is driven by a high demand for goods, since most people make cakes with a preening mixture of flour, eggs, sugar, and more. This has been a tradition for every year leading up to the big day of celebrations it must be that all prices of goods have increased so much as to stress those of lower income due to the desperate need of the holiday.
In view of these habits and traditions that occur every year, we expect this to happen by making early purchases when goods are relatively stable even though some of them are already going high. In the city where we lived, there was a program designed to make it easier for the needy by providing financial aid because of the steady increase in the inflation rate of basic goods. Today we get a sum of Rp. 600,000 in cash to each registered family and without a long time to spend it on the next batch of basic foodstuffs and a few other items that are needed before lebaran come and we buy sand sugar, cooking oil, flour, eggs, and some other items of support. With all these groceries hope to stock up for the next few days.
It was nice to get to the alternative when things were very unstable, but we could not blame those who were selling goods but because of the shortage of raw materials so that to obtain them would take time and for those in need was unfortunate and hoped for the best possible solution to the common welfare.
