Friends are people that I have a lot of scarcity of as with time I have lost quite a few of them and it is to the point that right now I can count my true friends on one hand as there are not a whole lot of them in my life. This doesn't mean that I haven't made any friends in my life but not a whole lot of them decided to stay in my life for a long time. Yes, I cannot say that the reason behind that is not me but I have a different set of values when it comes to friends and friendships.
Honesty, Loyalty, and kindness are some qualities and values that most people want in their friends and I am not saying that these are bad qualities to have in any person but I have a whole different criteria when it comes to choosing friends in my life. Truth be told I have only one solid criteria when it comes to choosing the Values that I seek in my Friends
I just want them to be there for me at my Lowest Times
This is my one and only requirement in my friends as I am speaking about this from sheer experience that people tend to get closer to you when you are in your Good Times and sway farther from you when the Bad Times come and it is this difference that makes a Friend just a Friend or a Very Good Friend. I was at one of the lowest points in my life and I have to say that not a single friend of mine at that time called me to check out how I was doing and that was true for my then-girlfriend as well. So I cut them off from my life completely as I felt that a friend who was never with me in my times of need was definitely not a Good Friend for me.
Yes, loyalty, Honesty, and Kindness are all values that I greatly appreciate but all I want in my friend is to be with me at all times whether it is good times or bad ones.
