Am I obsessed with Roosters?
I found myself pondering that thought this morning when I went into the kitchen to make coffee; something I do every morning, but I never paid much attention to the Roosters before.
This morning was different though.
My attention was strangely drawn to them; they are every were, on the walls , on the curtains, on the tiles even the window sill.
I reached for the coffee container, there it was again, a Rooster on the tray!

I don't know what possessed me to have them all over the kitchen. I know I was trying to create a farm style kitchen, but to have them every where?

One of my Aunts use to collect owls; her house was full of them. Pictures, ornaments, wall hangings, they were every where; even her night gown had owls on.
She was obsessed with owls. I never liked visiting her as a child, they scared the hell out of me when I slept over, she even had them in the spare bedroom.
"Oh my word! am I becoming like my Aunty Merl"? I found myself rushing to my closet, I know I had a bird of some sort on my night gown.
What a sigh of relief, "No, it isn't a Rooster", it's a Pea cock".
I even have them on some of my mugs, not that I use those much, but they are there on display with a Rooster printed on it.
I had to get some fresh air; these Roosters were just enough now!
I walked outside into the garden and sat on a chair taking a sip of coffee; heaven forbid....
Almost choking, I saw another Rooster on the garden table.

Thinking back to when it all started; a gift from my daughter of two pictures of Roosters above my stove, then it spread to the curtains, tiles and eventually everywhere else.
If I had my own way back then, I would have had a fowl run with a couple of Roosters, they have a supercilious manner about them, and the sound of them crowing in the distance, gives one a sense of freedom, don't you think?.
Having three Labradors as pets, that would be totally out of the question though, so it's just as well!
Why am I suddenly so aware of the Roosters in my kitchen?
The only conclusion I can come to is that I need a change, and put my Roosters to rest.
I suggested renovating my kitchen to my hubby Peter, he hasn't answered me yet.
I think I will keep one or two Roosters, maybe three.
I don't think I'm obsessed, but then again, just maybe a little?
