Living Life As Art
Today's "quote to live by" by Henry Miller reflects how I would like to live every day of my life, namely . . . as though it is art.

What that means for me is starting each day as though it were an empty canvas.
I have an idea of what I would like to paint upon it but I am not attached to creating a specific picture.
I try not to repeat what I did yesterday, unless that's what naturally occurs, but instead, I let each action build on the last whilst staying open to what is possible but, as yet unknown.
This painting is a good example of that.
I started off meaning to test out different acrylic mediums and record which one was which.
After doing the first 7 or 8 I felt bored with the recording and so abandoned it. I continued by picking up whatever medium caught my eye, scraping it onto the board and making random marks in it.
Then I decided to have a go at doing a colour wash, but I made such a pig's ear of it I ended up putting it under the shower in an attempt to wash the paint off.
It wouldn't all wash off but I liked the effect that I'd created so I did the same, deliberately, with 3 more colours working from each of the other corners.
The background of this quote is what I ended up with. As usual I wasn't sure if it was finished or not. It's not yet framed so can be further developed should I wish to do so. Just like life itself!
May the canvas of your life be filled with whatever brings you joy today.
