Bright Robin On A Grey Day

I got lucky when I photographed this robin. It must have been looking at something else completely to let me get this close.

I normally associate robins with winter, but I'm happy to see this shot as representing the end of the dark months as we move into Spring.

They are one of my favourite birds as they don't desert us when it gets cold in the UK. They remain with us all through the winter, brightening our days when we are lucky enough to spot one.
