Magpies can be quite noisy, especially if you get a group of them together. They can seem quite loud and boisterous. Alone, though, I have come to appreciate when I see one quietly going about its business. This one was hopping around my lawn looking for worms, no different from the many robins I see. It was less likely to fly off quickly once it saw me, as I see many birds do; they don't seem to care so long as I don't seem like a threat.
