I can assure you, with all certainty and redundancy, that creating accessories for children can be really fun and as the popular saying goes: "For example, a button"; today I come to share this fantastic bracelet with a frog-shaped pendant crocheted, some bright orange flowers and if that was not enough color, I put it on a neon yellow Chinese thread. This bracelet is an explosion of fun and color, but it is also a very authentic accessory that the little ones of the house can wear and play with.

Les puedo asegurar, con toda certeza y valga la redundancia, que crear accesorios para niños puede ser realmente divertido y como reza el dicho popular: "Para muestra, un botón"; hoy les vengo a compartir esta fantástica pulsera con un colgante en forma de sapo realizado a crochet, unas llamativas flores color naranja y por si no fuere suficiente color, la arme sobre un hilo chino color amarillo neón. Está pulsera es una explosión de diversión y de color, pero además es un accesorio muy auténtico que las pequeñas de la casa podrán lucir, además de jugar con él.

In this post I am going to show you how to make the little toad. Obviously it is not a toad with all its body parts, but something more cartoonish, since making a complete piece requires a different type of material, i.e. a thinner thread and a thinner needle. But as now I want to venture into the world of miniature crochet I have to invest in it, for now, let's make this little toad with cotton yarn and 3mm needle.

En esta publicación voy a mostrar cómo realizar el pequeño sapo. Obviamente no es un sapo con todas las partes de su cuerpo, sino algo más caricaturesco, ya que elaborar una pieza completa requiere de otro tipo de material, es decir un hilo más delgado y aguja más delgada. Pero como ahora quiero incursionar en el mundo del crochet miniatura tengo que invertir en ello, por ahora, hagamos este sapito con hilo de algodón y aguja de 3mm.

We make a magic ring with 6 single crochets and then increase 12 single crochets and in the second round to 18 single crochets. From there we continue with 2 rows of 18 single crochet stitches. We make a disk of 18 single crochet stitches which will be the base of the body. A pair of eyes with a magic ring of 7 stitches for 2 rows. A pair of legs with three fingers each. Assemble and fill it. A few black beads are placed on a ball of white wool for the eyes.

Realizamos un anillo mágico con 6 puntos bajos y luego aumentamos 12 puntos bajos y en la segunda vuelta a 18 puntos bajos. De allí continuamos con 2 vueltas de 18 puntos bajos. Realizamos un disco de 18 puntos bajos que será la base del cuerpo. Un par de ojos con un anillo mágico de 7 puntos por 2 vueltas. Un par de patas con tres dedos cada una. Se arma y se rellena. Se colocan unas mostacillas negras sobre una bolita de lana blanca para los ojos.

The flowers are assembled with 5 puff stitches on a magic ring. For this I used orange cotton thread.

Las flores se arman con 5 puntos puff sobre un anillo mágico. Para ello utilicé hilo de algodón color naranja.

Now it was time to assemble the bracelet. I worked with flat knots on a neon green Chinese thread. They are just flat knots and we have already shared several times about this on my blog, so for today we will skip that part. After we made approximately 12 centimeters of flat knots, we glued the first flower with liquid silicone. Let it dry and while we make a pendant with yellow beads for the little frog.

Llegó el momento de armar la pulsera. Trabajé con nudos planos sobre un hilo chino verde neón. Son solo nudos planos y ya hemos compartido varias veces sobre esto en mi blog, así que por hoy vamos a obviar esa parte. Después que realizamos aproximadamente 12 centímetros de nudos planos, pegamos la primera flor con silicón líquido. Dejamos secar y mientras realizamos un colgante con mostacillas amarillas para el sapito.

Once the first flower is dry, we pass the toad pendant and place the second flower maintaining the symmetry that for me is extremely important. Then we close with a flat knot and at the ends a couple of yellow Murano crystals.

Una vez seca la primera flor, pasamos el colgante de sapo y colocamos la segunda flor mantenimiento la simetría que para mí es algo sumamente importante. Luego cerramos con nudo plano y en las puntas un par de cristales de Murano amarillos.

We also colored a strip of yellow beads. This was a last minute thing because I noticed that although it had a lot of color, it lacked some texture to make it even more interesting.

También colores una tira de mostacillas amarillas. Esto fue algo de último momento porque noté que aunque tenía mucho color, le faltaba algo de textura para hacerlo aún más interesante.
