Crochet is a great ally in my life. As a therapy, it helps me a lot in those moments when I need to clarify and put my ideas in order and as a hobby, because I really enjoy when I knit, however there are times when I really want to knit and undertaking projects that are too long also requires an investment of resources and it is not always possible, it is advisable to take advantage of those leftover threads, wool and yarn and learn new stitches with what we have left over.

El crochet es un gran aliado en mi vida. Como terapia, me ayuda mucho en esos momentos en los que necesito aclarar y poner en orden mis ideas y como hobby, pues disfruto mucho cuando tejo, sin embardo hay momentos en los que tengo muchas ganas de tejer y emprender proyectos demasiado largos requiere también de una inversión de recursos y no siempre se puede, es propicio aprovechar esos sobrantes de hilos, lanas e hilazas y aprender nuevas puntadas con lo que nos va sobrando.

Of the bags I made several days ago, I had some colors left over that just by looking at them one can imagine beautiful sunflowers and although I didn't have enough for many, I made myself comfortable in my chair, and with a good cup of coffee, I began to make this sunflower.

De los bolsos que realicé hace varios días me sobraron unos colores que de verlos nada más uno se puede imaginar unos bonitos girasoles y aunque no me alcanzaba para muchos, me puse cómoda en mi silla, y con una buena taza de café, empecé a realizar este girasol.

I really liked the technique because it is three-dimensional. It doesn't lie flat. I worked with 24 single crochets at the base to get 12 petals on the flower. First I made a semisphere; Starting with a magic ring of 6 single crochets and advance in 4 rounds with increases in multiples of 6 per round until you reach 24 single crochets. From there, we knit 2 more rounds of 24 single crochets to gain a little height, not too much since that central part of the sunflowers is more flat than puffy, but I wanted it to stand out just a little.

La técnica me gustó mucho porque es tridimensional. No queda plano. Trabajé con 24 puntos bajos en la base para conseguir 12 pétalos en la flor. Primero realicé una semiesfera; comenzando con un anillo mágico de 6 puntos bajos y avance en 4 vueltas con aumentos múltiplos de 6 por vuelta hasta llegar a 24 puntos bajos. De allí se tejen 2 vueltas más de 24 puntos bajos para ganar un poco de altura, no demasiado pues esa parte central de los girasoles es más plana que abultada, pero deseaba que sobresaliera solo uno poco.

Now let's go to the base of the sunflower, it is that green part that I don't know what it's called, but it is the one that connects with the stem. I started with 6 chain stitches and increased in multiples of six but every two rounds to achieve the flared shape until I reached 24 stitches.

Ahora vamos con la base del girasol, es esa parte verde que no sé cómo se llama, pero es la que conecta con el tallo. Empecé con 6 puntos de cadenas y fui en aumentos múltiplos de seis pero cada dos vueltas para conseguir la forma acampanada hasta llegar a 24 puntos.

Para hacer los pétalos, se una la parte marrón a la verde y se pasa el hilo amarillo uniendo ambas partes con un punto deslizado. Cada pétalo está compuesto de tres cadenas, un punto alto doble, tres cadenas para la punta, un punto alto doble y tres cadenas y se levantan en dos puntos de la base marrón. En la medida que vamos levantando los pétalos tejemos sobre ambas piezas, tanto la verde como la marrón por eso es necesario asegurarnos de pasar el gancho tomando la parte externa de cada punto en cada pieza a unir.

In the end there are exactly 12 petals left. I left a small opening to place just a little bit of filling. I knitted several leaves in a chain of 12 stitches and then at stitch 10 counting down I picked up half high and low stitches at the ends to give the leaf shape. Then I glued them with silicone to the base of the flower.

Al final quedan exactamente los 12 pétalos. He dejado una pequeña abertura para colocar solo un poco de relleno. Tejí varias hojas en una cadena de 12 puntos y luego en el punto 10 contando de forma regresiva levanté puntos medios altos y bajos en los extremos para dar la forma de hoja. With silicone I fixed a tall toothpick in the hole at the base and then I lined it with green thread and some leaves and that's how I made the stem. With a pretty turquoise paper I finished decorating the flower and finally a small yellow flower with a cord to secure the paper.

Con silicón fijé un palillo de altura en el orificio de la base y luego lo forre con hilo verde y algunas hojas y así elaboré el tallo. Con un bonito papel color turquesa terminé de decorar la flor y por último una pequeña flor amarilla con un cordón para asegurar el papel.

I think a whole bouquet of sunflowers would be beautiful. Maybe I will. There are so many things I want to do, but I have to calm down a little because with effort these projects become tiresome and it is not what I am looking for, because I want to enjoy every stitch.
