Who says that at my age I couldn't wear a crop top, and although these shirts are characterized by exposing part of the abdomen, today I show you how you can wear them if you don't feel so comfortable showing your abdomen. I also show you how to knit some of them in an easy way, not so fast but where every stitch is worth it because it looks amazing.

Quién dice que a mí edad no podía usar un crop top, y aunque estas camisas se caracterizan por dejar al descubierto parte del abdomen, hoy te muestro cómo puedes usarlas si no te sientes tan cómoda mostrando tu abdomen. Además también te enseño como tejer uno de forma fácil, no tan rápida pero donde cada punto vale la pena porque queda increíble.

Yesterday I wore it to church and it makes me feel very comfortable, because I wore it with a tight and sleeveless turtleneck bodysuit that allows you to show off but without showing any skin. This is the way I would wear a crop top while still feeling comfortable.

Lucir esta prenda hecha por mi, me llena de orgullo bonito. Ayer la usé para ir a la iglesia y me hace sentir muy cómoda, pues lo usé con un body de cuello tortuga ajustado y sin mangas que permite mostrar lucirte pero sin mostrar nada de piel. Esta es la forma en que yo usaría un crop top sin dejar de sentirme a gusto.

The crop top is made by sandwiching a row of medium high stitches and a row of high stitches. You start by measuring across the bust, in the front, without tucking in the back. In my case 62 centimeters, from this measurement we knit the amount of stitches we need, but counting in multiples of 8 plus 3 stitches, since the pattern we are going to knit is a multiple of 8.

El crop top está realizado intercalando una hilera de puntos medio alto y una hilera de puntos altos. Se comienza midiendo al ancho del busto, en la parte frontal, sin meter la espalda. En mi caso 62 centímetros, a partir de esta medida tejemos la cantidad de puntos que necesitemos, pero contando en múltiplo de 8 más 3 puntos, ya que el patrón que vamos a tejer es múltiplo de 8.

My crop top comprises 83 chain stitches at the base. So I will have 10 patterns of 8 stitches. In the first row we knit 3 chain stitches that represent the first medium high stitch plus a single crochet stitch, we leave that first stitch without knitting and in the next row we pick up a medium high stitch, we repeat it once more to complete 3 medium high stitches separated by a chain and now we pick up 3 chains in the air, we leave the 3 spaces in the base chain, this way we complete the first 8 stitch pattern and repeat until we reach the end of the first row. We must finish in medium high stitch.

Mi crop top abarca 83 puntos de cadena en la base. Entonces tendré 10 patrones de 8 puntos. En la primera vuelta tejemos 3 puntos cadena que representan el primer punto medio alto más un punto de estacio, dejamos ese primer punto sin tejer y en siguiente levantamos un puntos medio alto, lo repetimos una vez más para completar 3 puntos medio alto separados por una cadena y ahora levantamos 3 cadenas al aire, déjanos los 3 espacios en la cadena base, así completamos el primer patrón de 8 puntos y repetimos hasta llegar al final de la primera fila. Debemos terminar en punto medio alto.

Pick up 4 chain stitches plus one. The first 4 will be the first high stitch plus the separating chain stitch. We repeat the pattern but with high stitches. Remember: three double crochet stitches separated by a chain stitch plus three chain stitches; in total 8 stitches. We repeat the pattern until the end where we finish with a double crochet.

Levantamos 4 puntos cadena más uno. Los 4 primeros serán el primero punto alto más el punto cadena de separación. Repetimos el patrón pero con puntos altos. Recordemos: son tres puntos altos separados por un punto cadena más tres cadena; en total 8 puntos. Repetimos el patrón hasta el final dónde terminamos en punto alto.

In this way we move forward alternating rows until we reach the desired length. For my crop top I made 42 rows until I reached the neck. There we knit 10 patterns on the right side separated by a chain of 40 stitches that will be the neck opening. Then we knit the remaining 10 patterns to complete the row. When we turn the fabric we start working the back and repeat the row in the same pattern

Así avanzamos intercalando vueltas hasta llegar al largo deseado. Para mi crop top hice 42 vueltas hasta llegar a la altura del cuello. Allí se tejen 10 patrones del lado derecho separados por una cadena de 40 puntos que será la abertura del cuello. Luego tejemos los 10 patrones restantes para completar la fila. Al girar el tejido empezamos a trabajar la espalda y repetimos la vuelta en el mismo patron.

Once the rectangle is complete, we sew the sides to close the fabric and work the sleeves. We must leave the same space on one side as on the other and the best way to do this is to leave the same amount of patterns instead of measuring with a meter as there is a risk of not having the same amount of patterns. We knit in the same way, and start with the medium high stitches.

Una vez completo el rectángulo, cosemos a los lados para cerrar el tejido y trabajamos las mangas. Debemos dejar el mismo espacio en un lado como en el otro y la mejor forma de hacerlo es dejar la misma cantidad de patrones en lugar de medir con un metro ya que se corre el riesgo de no tener la misma cantidad de patrones. Tejemos de la misma manera, y comenzamos con los punto medio altos.

I knit 10 rows on each side and finished off the border with a row of pompoms, for the neck I knit a full row of single crochet.

Tejí 10 vueltas de cada lado y remate el borde con una hilera de pompones, para el cuello tejí una vuelta completa de puntos bajos.
