I am pleased to greet you lovers of needlework. On social media I have seen a macramé technique to make some beautiful Santa Claus dolls. When I see something I really like I can't wait to at least try it, and I didn't have the required material to make macramé, especially the thread that can be combed, even so, I collected some other material I had at home and I set out to make these beautiful dolls, which of course with the other material looks much better. Cuando veo algo que me gusta mucho no puedo esperar para al menos intentarlo, y no tenía el material requerido para hacer macramé, en especial el hilo que se puede peinar, aún así, recopilé algo de otro material que tenía en casa y me dispuse a realizar estos hermosos muñecos, que por supuesto con el otro material queda mucho mejor.


In the models that served me as inspiration, they use a wooden hoop to assemble Santa's beard. I solved this problem by improvising a hoop with cardboard to which I put skin-colored cotton thread wrapped around the entire surface.	En los modelos que me sirvieron como inspiración, usan un aro de madera para armar la barba de Santa. Este inconveniente lo resolví improvisando un aro con cartulina al que le puse hilo de algodón color piel enrollando en toda la superficie.

En los modelos que me sirvieron como inspiración, usan un aro de madera para armar la barba de Santa. Este inconveniente lo resolví improvisando un aro con cartulina al que le puse hilo de algodón color piel enrollando en toda la superficie.


For the nose is a sphere of 12 low stitches made with skin-colored cotton thread. I placed white and pearl colored wool yarn until I covered half of the hoop. Then I combed a little. Not too much because the yarn starts to look battered and that is not the effect you want to achieve. That is why the other macramé yarn is recommended.	Para la nariz es una esfera de 12 puntos bajos hecha con hilo de algodón color piel. Fui colocando hilos de lana color blanco y perla hasta cubrir la mitad del aro. Luego peine un poco. No demasiado porque el hilo empieza a verse maltratado y no es el efecto que se quiere conseguir. Por eso es recomendable el otro hilo macramé.

In the case of the hat, I worked it in a very similar way to the original and it consists of tying pieces of wool using a lark's knot on a ring of approximately 2 centimeters high cut from an empty roll of paper. Once we have covered all the cardboard, we pass all the threads inwards and tie them together 4 centimeters from the base. Even out the top with a pair of scissors and you will have a large pompom on the hat. Una vez que hemos cubierto todo el cartón, pasamos todos los hilos hacia adentro y los amarramos juntos a 4 centímetros de la base. Emparejamos la parte superior con unas tijeras y nos quedará un copioso pompón sobre el gorro.

With silicone we glue a moustache that we make by rolling a bit of white wool, tie and even out the ends. We glue on the beard and then we glue the nose. I would have liked to make many more of this same model, but I worked with leftover yarn and I only had enough for two. Today I went to find out how much the special macramé thread for knots and combing costs and it costs $ 3.00 per 100 grams. It is affordable but I left with just enough to buy two skeins of cotton thread that I needed for another job, so it will be for next time. I bid you all farewell and wish you all a blessed day.
