I'll tell you something about me, I'm the kind of person who finds it hard to follow a recipe, whether it's a dessert or anything else, to follow a medical treatment to the letter, these are always things that cost me. Another example of that is following a pattern when I'm knitting. I think I am self-taught in almost everything I do. I am a cake decorator with three-dimensional figures and I never went to a course. I do make-up art, although I'm not a professional, I do watercolor painting, graphite drawing, I also play a little guitar and piano and only with a few piano lessons. Do you know why? Because it bores me to follow patterns, although it is good to do it and I recommend it to anyone and I teach my children that they should be constant in whatever they propose because only then they will be truly successful and not just amateurs in something.

Les contaré algo acerca de mi, soy la clase de personas que le cuesta seguir una receta, ya sea de un postre o cualquier otra cosa, llegar a cumplir un tratamiento médico al pie de la letra, siempre son cosas que me cuestan. Otro ejemplo de ello es seguir un patrón cuando estoy tejiendo. Creo que soy autodidacta en casi todas las cosas que hago. Soy decoradora de tortas con figuras tridimensionales y nunca fui a un curso. Hago maquillaje artístico, aunque no soy profesional, me defiendo en el área, pinto con acuarelas, dibujo con grafito, también toco un poco de guitarra y piano y solo con unas pocas clases de piano. Saben por qué? Porque me aburre seguir patrones, aunque es bueno hacerlo y se lo recomiendo a cualquiera y enseño a mis hijos que se debe ser constante en cualquier cosa que se propongan porque solo así tendrán verdadero éxito y no serán solo aficionados en algo.

I make reference to these things because I don't know if at some point it has happened to you like it did to me, that I have an idea in mind of something I want to do and I end up doing something totally different. Well, although this happens to me frequently, and it's because I don't even follow my own patterns. The thing is that I find myself with some limitation or I don't like how my project is turning out and I turn everything around and do something else. Or I start with some materials and in the process of elaboration it occurs to me to add another element and the work is not so similar to what I had in mind. But this in my opinion is not so bad, because I always look for a way to overcome the obstacle that comes my way, what is important is to be constant and perseverant in what we like and are passionate about doing.

Hago referencia a estás cosas porque no sé si en algún momento les ha pasado como a mi, que tengo un idea en mente de algo que quiero realizar y termino haciendo otra totalmente diferente. Bueno, aunque a mí esto me pasa con frecuencia, y es porque no sigo ni mis propios patrones. El caso es que me encuentro con alguna limitación o no me gusta como va quedando mi proyecto y le doy un giro a todo y hago otra cosa. O empiezo con unos materiales y en el proceso de elaboración se me ocurre agregar otro elemento y ya el trabajo no es tan parecido a lo que tenía pensado. Pero esto en mi opinión no es tan malo, porque siempre busco la forma de superar el obstáculo que se me presente, lo que si es importante es ser constantes y perseverantes en eso que nos gusta y apasiona hacer.

Such is the case of today's necklace. I had bought a beautiful blue waxed thread and it turns out that it did not pass through the hole of my green glass beads. I wanted to make one of those models that have one part of the necklace with a chain and the other part with beads and ribbons. The chain was too thin to pass a ribbon and well, I decided to leave it like that and the other part to combine the green beads with gold ones and change to Chinese thread which is thinner. The result: Totally different from what I had conceived in my head. Now I share with you the details, I think it still looked nice. It has a modern but also bohemian feel to it. I hope you like it:

Tal es el caso del collar de hoy. Había comprado un hermoso hilo encerado de color azul y resulta que no pasaba por el agujero de mis cuentas de vidrio verde. Quería hacer uno de esos modelos que tienen una parte del collar con una cadena y la otra parte con cuentas y cintas. La cadena era muy delgada como pasar una cinta y bien, me decidí por dejarlo así y la otra parte combinar las cuentas verdes con unas doradas y cambiar a hilo chino que es más delgado. El resultado: Totalmente diferente a lo que había concebido en mi cabeza. Ahora le comparto los detalles, pienso que aún así quedó bonito. Tiene un aire moderno pero también bohemio. We take the chain and pass the thread through the last link at one end and place it in the middle. We pass a single strand through the hole of a green bead and we make a knot turning both ends on itself and passing both strands through the circle that is formed. This is a basic knot that everyone knows how to tie.

Tomamos la cadena y pasamos el hilo por el último eslabón de un extremo y lo ubicamos a la mitad. Pasamos una sola hebra por el orificio de un cuenta verde y realizamos un nudo girando ambos extremos sobre si mismo y pasando ambas hebras por el círculo que se forma. Este es un nudo básico que todo el mundo sabe hacer.

The next step is to place two golden beads on each strand and repeat the same simple knot. We make use of the needle every time we tie a knot so that it is tight and well assembled, otherwise the knots look sloppy. The important thing here is to make them well attached to the bead and for this we help ourselves with a needle, we place it inside the knot and slide it towards where we have the bead, in this way we tighten the knot. We repeat the process, alternating green beads and gold beads separated by knots, until we reach the desired length. I like tight necklaces so I worked until I had approximately 18 centimeters of beads.

Lo siguiente es colocar dos cuentas doradas en cada hebra y repetimos el mismo nudo simple. Hacemos uso de la aguja cada vez que hacemos un nudo para que quede bien ajustado y armado ya que de lo contrario los nudos se ven desprolijos. Lo importante aquí es hacerlos bien pegado a la cuenta y para ello nos ayudamos con una aguja, la colocamos dentro del nudo y deslizamos hacia dónde tenemos la cuenta, de esta forma arrimamos el nudo. Repetimos el proceso intercalando cuentas verdes y cuentas doradas separadas por nudos, hasta completar el largo deseado. Me gustan los collares ajustados asi que trabaje hasta completar 18 centímetros aproximadamente de cuentas.
