My amateur artist soul leads me to take the subject of colors very seriously, and I think I have mentioned it before, for me colors are as important as the selection of materials and textures to combine in a piece. I have noticed this lately, because it is possible that previously I did not make too many qualms about it, but the time I spend with my watercolor drawings, has given me another perspective on things, the nuances, depth, lighting, among other factors, are of vital importance when creating an accessory or piece of jewelry, as the latter, is also considered an art.

Mi alma me artista aficionada me lleva a tomar muy enserio el tema de los colores, y creo que lo he mencionado antes, para mí los colores son tan importantes como la selección de materiales y texturas para combinar en una pieza. Esto lo he notado últimamente, porque es posible que anteriormente no hiciera demasiados reparos en ello, pero el tiempo que paso con mis dibujos de acuarelas, me ha dado otra perspectiva de las cosas, los matices, la profundidad, la iluminación, entre otros factores, son de vital importancia a la hora de crear un accesorio o pieza de joyería, pues ésta última, también es considerada como un arte.

For today I bring you a simple, but very beautiful casual bracelet that by the colors that constitute it expresses a fun personality but still look delicate and with a lot of presence. This time I chose fuchsia crystals with a small bubblegum pink thread where both colors are kept in the same shades, but as I already had two vibrant colors, I chose some white crystals to shade and to give shine nothing better than some golden balls, all this intertwined with some basic flat knots, but now let's see the details of the process of elaboration.

Para el día de hoy les traigo una sencilla, pero muy hermosa pulsera casual que por los colores que la constituyen expresa una personalidad divertida pero sin dejar de lucir delicada y con mucha presencia. En esta ocasión elegí cristales en color fucsia con un hilo chino rosado chicle en donde ambos colores se mantienen en las mismas tonalidades, pero como ya tenía dos vibrantes colores, elegí unos cristales blancos para matizar y para dar brillo nada mejor que unos balines dorados, todo esto entrelazado con unos básicos nudos planos, pero ahora veamos los detalles del proceso de elaboración.

TWe will work with two central threads of 35 centimeters and a tie thread of approximately 1 meter, I always work with long enough thread, because I prefer to lose a few centimeters in excess thread than to be short and get a messy finish by a tie of threads. Now, we introduce a ball through both central threads, tie and seal with the lighter. At approximately 7 centimeters we tie 24 flat knots with the tying thread. We can cut and seal the leftovers at once or at the end as I did, this is indistinct, because we will not use the tie threads until after we have passed all the crystals.

Trabajaremos con dos hilos centrales de 35 centímetros y un hilo de amarre de 1 metro aproximadamente, siempre trabajo con hilo lo suficientemente largo, pues prefiero que me sobre perder unos pocos centímetros en hilo sobrante que quedarme corta y obtener un acabado desprolijo por un empate de hilos. Ahora, introducimos un balín por ambos hilos centrales, amarramos y sellamos con el encendedor. A 7 centímetros aproximadamente realizamos 24 nudos planos con el hilo de amarre. Podemos cortar y sellar los sobrantes de una vez o al final como lo hice yo, esto es indistinto, pues ya no usaremos los hilos de amarre sin después que hayamos pasado todos los cristales.

We introduce both tie wires through the center of a pellet and then a pellet in each wire. Next we introduce a fuchsia crystal in one of the threads and in the other thread a white crystal and a pellet of each lake, from now on we only have to alternate the colors, that is to say, now we introduce a white crystal and a fuchsia crystal, because there should never be two crystals of the same color in a row. In this way we advance until we have placed 7 crystals on each side. The number of crystals to use depends on taste, my intention was that the crystals were only visible on the upper part of the wrist and that the flat knots were sufficiently visible.

Introducimos ambos hilos por el centro de un balín y luego un balín en cada hilo. Seguidamente introducimos un cristal fucsia en uno de los hilos y en el otro hilo un cristal blanco y un balín de cada lago, en lo sucesivo solo queda alternar los colores, es decir, ahora introducimos un cristal blanco y uno fucsia, pues nunca debe quedar dos cristales seguidos de un mismo color. De esta manera avanzamos hasta que hayamos colocado 7 cristales de cada lado. El número de cristales a utilizar depende del gusto, mi intención fue que los cristales se vieran solo en la parte superior de la muñeca y que los nudos planos fuesen lo suficientemente visibles.

We finish this part by passing both strands through the center of a ball and we return to the flat knots until we complete 24. Then we place a ball 7 centimeters apart, tie and seal. For the closure I also made flat knots.

Terminamos esta parte pasando ambos hilos por el centro de un balín y retomamos los nudos planos hasta completar 24. Luego colocamos un balín a 7 centímetros de distancia, amarramos y sellamos. Para el cierre también realicé nudos planos.
