Belt made in macramé.Cinturón realizado en macramé.
Every new project I do with fabric is very special for me and making garments and accessories to be worn by myself makes it even more rewarding. My way of dressing has always been quite basic and my accessories have been modest and discreet, not to say that I hardly use them, but lately I'm learning to use them and feel comfortable with them; such is the case of scarves that can enrich an outfit and make it look much more complete, so a standing ovation to scarves. For this reason I want to create little by little my own accessories and I have seen an infinity of wonderful pieces in networks and I have taken the idea to make a crochet belt using a slightly firmer thread called macramé, just like the name of the hand knitting technique. I didn't know that such a yarn existed, and this is one more proof that I am just a crochet amateur and that there is a whole world to explore and many things to learn about this subject.

In the same store where I buy yarns they had some simple buckles and if I wanted something more attractive I would have to take a bus to the center and I didn't have enough time to go at that moment, on the other hand my desire to start knitting was stronger and I ended up buying the buckle they offered me. As soon as I could, I started to knit my belt.
Apenas pude, me dispuse a elaborar mi cinturón.

I couldn't figure out the number of stitches for the thickness of the belt. First I started with 18 stitches and there thinking that the hook in the center of the buckle would be right in the center, when knitting the first round I also realized that I needed an odd number of base chains to get the knit to look even, this I didn't solve by doing the extra stitch over the hook once I completed the base. I then tried 14 stitches but it was still too many, I finally got the right number and was left with 12 stitches. Now I'm going to share with you the details in case you want to make your own belt.

We make 12 low stitches over the buckle, 6 on each side of the hook. These stitches will be the base of the fabric. When we finish the base we turn the buckle as we would do with any knitting and make a chain stitch and make a medium high stitch in that same stitch.

The next one is a slip stitch and so we continue to intersperse and slip stitch with a slip stitch until we get over the hook of the buckle and we knit and slip stitch, this stitch will be the one that completes the odd number that we need for the belt fabric to be uniform.

We knit until we reach the desired length. Then we make a reduction, we do this by skipping the first slip stitch in sequence and knit in the next stitch. In the next round we knit one stitch less and so on until we finish at an angle.

TThis is how we finish this beautiful knitting. It looks very nice and eye-catching. It is worth mentioning that it takes about 50 grams of macramé thread and that my belt has to measure about two meters, the latter is a joke, but it is very economical to do it or at least try it. Well my dear ones, I say goodbye until a new meeting. Bye Bye.
Chao Chao.
