[ENG/ESP]A bracelet without a story. /Una pulsera sin historia.

I have the pleasure and honor to share this tutorial to make this elegant bracelet with crossed crystals. It doesn't have a special story, like the other things I usually make to share on my blog.

Tengo el gusto y el honor de compartir este tutorial para realizar esta elegante pulsera con cristales cruzados. No tiene una historia especial, como las otras cosas que suelo hacer para compartir en mi blog.

Usually there is a story behind each of my creations, but this time I just sat down to craft something to share in the community. And although there is no special story for this piece; it wasn't made as a gift, it's not a request, there's nothing special about the materials and crystals that compose it, but while I was making it, I could meditate on many of the things that have happened this year and that makes my bracelet special.

Por lo general hay una historia detrás de cada una de mis creaciones, pero está vez solo me senté a elaborar algo para compartir en la comunidad. Y aunque no hay una historia especial para esta pieza; no fue hecha para regalar, no es un pedido, tampoco tienen nada de especial los materiales y cristales que la componen, pero mientras la elaboraba, puede meditar en muchas de las cosas que han acontecido este año y eso hace que mi pulsera sea especial.

One thing that many probably share with me is the thought that this year has gone by so fast. My children are growing up so much, they reason and argue differently and I feel a bit nostalgic about that. The years go by fast and it is necessary to make the most of every second.

Algo en lo que muchos probablemente compartan conmigo es el pensamiento de que este año se ha ido muy rápido. Mis hijos están creciendo muchísimo, ya razonan y argumentan diferente y yo me siento un poco nostálgica por eso. Los años pasan rápido y es necesario aprovechar al máximo cada segundo.

While I was having a coffee and making the weaving of this bracelet, I was thinking about how short life can be. The Holy Scriptures say that the most robust men would live 80 years, and based on this premise, then I am already going towards my second half and I am thinking that I will live past the age of 80, but this is only a speculation because we can not say exactly how long we will live. What I am sure of is that what I have left to live I can do it wisely.

Mientras tomaba un café y realizaba el entramado de esta pulsera, pensaba en lo corta que puede ser la vida. Ya viví quizás la mitad de mi vida, Dicen las Santas Escrituras que los hombres más robustos vivirían 80 años y partiendo de esta premisa, entonces ya voy hacia mi segunda mitad y esto pensando que viviré hasta pasados los 80 años, pero esto es solo una especulación pues no podemos precisar cuánto viviremos. Lo que sí estoy segura es de que lo que me queda por vivir lo pueda hacer sabiamente.

Don't think me a pessimist or a bird of ill omen for talking about death. That is part of the cycle of life and we should think about it because it is what we are all assured of and handling that subject with intelligent reasoning allows us to take actions to live better and invest our days in the best possible way. For example, spending more time with our loved ones, eating a little healthier, not getting bitter or frustrated so easily. In short, to live better.

No me crean pesimista o pájaro de mal agüero por hablar de la muerte. Eso es parte del ciclo de la vida y debemos pensar en ello pues es lo que todos tenemos asegurado y el manejar ese tema con un razonamiento inteligente nos permite tomar acciones para vivir mejor e invertir nuestros días de la mejor manera posible. Por ejemplo, estar más tiempo con nuestros seres queridos, comer un poco más saludable, no amargarnos o frustrarnos con tanta facilidad. En fin, a vivir mejor.

Now I share with you the process to make this bracelet. A bracelet without history, but that helped me to become aware of the time I have left and that by His Grace alone, the Lord has given me.

Ahora les comparto el proceso para hacer esta pulsera. Una pulsera sin historia, pero que me sirvió para tomar conciencia del tiempo que me queda y que por solo Su Gracia, el Señor me ha regalado.

The bracelet is worked with two central threads of approximately 40 centimeters, I like to work with slack; and a two-meter tie thread. Once we fix the central threads with a hook at the top, leaving 10 centimeters for the clasp, we make 10 flat knots with the tie thread over the central ones. Now we pass a thread through the center of the first crystal. We pass it from right to left and vice versa, so the crystal will be crossed by both threads.

La pulsera se trabaja con dos hilos centrales de aproximadamente 40 centímetros, me gusta trabajar con holgura; y un hilo de amarre de dos metros. Una vez que fijamos los hilos centrales con un gancho en la parte superior, dejando 10 centímetros para el cierre, realizamos 10 nudos planos con el hilo de amarre sobre los centrales. Ahora pasamos un hilo por el centro del primer cristal. Lo pasamos de derecha a izquierda y viceversa, así el cristal quedará atravesado por ambos hilos.

We take one of the central threads and one of the tie strands and pass them through the center of one crystal and do the same on the other side. We take again the central threads and we place a crystal in the same way as we did with the first one we placed.

Tomamos uno de los hilos centrales y uno de las hebras de amarre y los pasamos por el centro de un cristal y hacemos lo mismo del otro lado. Tomamos nuevamente los hilos centrales y colocamos un cristal de la misma manera que lo hicimos con el primero que colocamos.

We pass both lateral threads through the center of a ball and repeat on the other side. We repeat the process to make the second motif but this time in white. We repeat the motifs, alternating the colors. The motifs are separated from each other by two lateral balls.

Pasamos ambos hilos laterales por el centro de un balín y repetimos del otro lado. Repetimos el proceso para armar el segundo motivo pero está vez en color blanco. Vamos repitiendo los motivos intercalando los colores. Los motivos están separados el uno del otro por dos balines laterales.

We arrived at the end and I was able to place three motifs in coral color and three motifs in white color which is perfect for the width of my wrist. Maybe they can gather more or less. The final finishes are the flat knots and the clasp which is also made with flat knots. I hope you like it and take the time to measure that time we have left and invest it wisely, giving love, respect and leaving a beautiful mark on everyone who in one way or another is or crosses our life. Llegamos al final y pude colocar tres motivos en color coral y tres motivos en color blanco que es perfecto para el ancho de mi muñeca. Quizás puedan reunir más o menos. Los acabados finales son los nudos planos y el cierre que también está hecho con nudos planos.
