I have seen some of videos coming out Melbourne and it looks like they took quite a bit further than in the U.S. but it varies greatly by state. I'm in far west Texas so ours were only moderate but some people are always pushing for more. As an essential, I never really got locked down though. I had a letter and a badge to show the cops if I got stopped but I never did. A lot of people ended up in that broke with nothing to do position. I suspect that may be one of the causes of the civil unrest here. A friend of mine got laid off from working in the oilfields because that industry has been in ruin for months.
I worry though. I get the feeling that people are starting to treat the our response to the pandemic like religion. There are things we can do to help but it seems like they believe that the only thing that will please the Covid gods are more restrictions on our freedoms. "Cover your filthy face, lest you bring the holy wrath of Corona upon us" lol.
Hopefully things don't come to that here or there but they are also implementing the same kind of tracking in my state too I think they call it "real ID" or something.
