Taking a break from main missions, I explored Montero Farm in third-person view. I passed by key characters like Espada, checked out the cockfighting area, and spotted the cute dog Chorizo. While checking out the farm vehicle, plane, and helicopter spawn points, a cool thunderstorm rolled over the camp.

I decided to take a break from jumping straight into missions and spend some time exploring Montero Farm first. One really neat thing about being in camp is that the game switches over to a third-person perspective.

It is kind of a shame you only get to see your character from this angle while inside camp areas, because it would be cool to have the option out in the open world, but it still makes walking around base feel special.

I started my little tour right near the main entrance where there is a horse pickup station. I only had one horse unlocked, named La Palmera, so I called it out just to see how the system works.

Heading deeper into the farm, the whole place felt full of life with people walking around and staying busy.

I ran into Espada, who was busy practicing her knife throwing against a target. I could have started a main quest by talking to her, but I wanted to keep checking out the farm, so I ignored her for now.

Next up was the Foreman, who runs the building construction stall, and then Lola, who greeted me like a regular customer.

I also stumbled across a cockfighting arena, which looks like a place to bet or fight.

There was this whole boar getting barbecued there. It look like the camp peoples are having a big feast.

There was Carlos, the father of Espada, along with his pet gator and getting to his triggers a cinematic cutscene that I guess would begin a mission so I ignored him for the time being.

Then I spotted Chorizo, the adorable little crippled dog with a wheelchair. He had a side quest prompt ready to go, but I decided to save that for another time.

Near the edge of the farm, I found a rusted vintage car sitting around that looked really neat despite being a complete wreck.

Stepping just outside the camp perimeter switches you back to the normal view and unlocks vehicle pickups.

I tested out the menu and called in a 1995 Sanaki ATV bike along with a 1976 Casper Rosa vintage car.

Right as I was messing around with the vehicles, a huge storm rolled in. Heavy rain started pouring down and lightning lit up the sky, which looked awesome and gave the whole farm a really cozy atmosphere.

Checking out the far side of the camp, I was surprised to find both a full airstrip and a helipad right next to each other. Having spawn points for air transport right inside your main base is super handy.

The airstrip lets you call in the 1946 Adjudicor LA-240 plane, the same one I accidentally blew up the other day.

The helipad gives you the 1952 Combrt R-25 helicopter. The chopper looks neat, but I remember from using it before that it does not have any weapons attached, so you are totally defenseless if enemy air units spot you.

Overall, taking this quick tour was a fun break from the action, and I am definitely going to use these vehicle spots when I head out for my next job.

How about we continue in another post?
