The week has again gone by so swiftly. July has been zooommm! Just like that, we're down to the last week. The kids and I have mostly just been at home and honestly, it's a struggle to come up with a menu to please these little ones...
or me? Yeah, I think it's just mostly me.
And Little Madam.
Yes, I know, little girl. I miss shawarma, too! It's been a few days since we last talked about buying shawarma, but we've not done so until now.
The other day, we went to buy ice cream and there was this small shawarma shop next to it. It's unfortunate I did not bring cash with me, and so we were not able to buy (yeah, I can live without bringing cash, LOL).
I particularly miss the saj shawarma from Flame and Bake. The sauce is to die for! When we're here, we ask for all the sauces - tahina, garlic, Mexican and spicy, and mix them altogether. No doubt, you'll be transported to "shawarma heaven" instantly!
For AED 34 (~$10), you can already get 2 saj shawarmas, french fries and a softdrink. You can ask them to cut the shawarmas into 3 parts (so you get a total of 6) and up to three people can already share this meal.
Okay, because I mentioned Flame and Bake, I now suddenly miss their grilled chicken too! 🤤 Eating it shawarma-style (with kubus) is the best in my opinion. Like... hayyyy,,,, should I end this blog and drive to F&B now?!
Biryani is a South Indian rice dish, cooked with meat (fish, chicken, lamb) or plain vegetarian, and spices. It's also been a while since I last ate biryani. I wanted to order some, but I still have reservations on buying restaurant food. Maybe I will try cooking my own, and find out if I can, or finally give in to restaurant food.
Or chicken mandi rice! That would be awesome too! Mandi is the Arabic mixed rice dish with more subtle flavor than biryani, but equally delicious.
or should I say, under-stimulated? Hmmm, perhaps I should get some bitter-sweet bombs into it?
I've been planning to make some low carb peanut butter balls. These, I think, I can make today.
Whew! I really need to end this post now and make these peanut butter balls, at least. Meanwhile, I think it will be a while until I can satisfy my biryani and shawarma cravings. Oh, life.
