The Sumatran tiger is a tiger species that still survives today and is protected. This type of tiger lives on the Indonesian island of Sumatra. This type of tiger has a smaller body than other types of tigers.
Although protected, the Sumatran tiger population is currently decreasing with the passing of the year. Illegal logging and poaching are the reasons this tiger species continues to shrink in population.
