Overall Impressions:

Although the purpose of the Carrion Shade sometimes seems as if it is simply to stand around, sometimes it steps into the battle and is crucial to the victory, soaking up several hits before dying and occasionally even getting to land a few damage.

When it obtains Flying, the ability to mitigate hits increases with the +25% miss chance. An extra attack would be even nicer.

Although the Carrion Shade is mostly used by Thaddius in the battles below, the final battle, which is a victory with Drake, demonstrates the card's potential perhaps the best.

Behold the Level 5 Carrion Shade as it stands still and watches. It watches the Death Elemental work. And then it watches Mylor and Unicorn fail in a Thorns mirror. Good work.

Here in Super Sneak rules, the Carrion Shade gets to put in a couple of hits as well as watching the rest of he team do some hard work. Both teams attempt to put a Thorns monster in last, but the Black one survives and the Green one does not.

Equal Opportunity battle of the Life Sappers. The Shade soaks a hit but its low life means that it goes down fast. A close battle, even if first-to-attack RNG didn't decide it, the first point of Fatigue would have caused the same outcome.

Versus Tarsa here, the Carrion Shade's purpose is to die. But its death soaks an important hit and Black gets the win.

Thaddius laughs off a Level 1 Khala and her gold foil friends here. The Cursed Windeku does most of the work though. The minus-life buff is so good.

Gold foil Level 3 Carrion Shade in Divine Shield rules soaks two hits. Good job Carrion Shade. Gold Foil means 10% extra DEC too. Also good job.

This match is in fact a loss, but it demonstrates that the Shade is not enough in this line-up. What this match also demonstrates, on a side note, is that Wizard is amazing in Armored Up.

Level 4 gold foil Carrion Shade is a spectator again here, except for adding 10% DEC. Thaddius beats Sloan. Magic beats Ranged.

Thaddius mirror. Levels matter. Sometimes they mean you attack first. The other team has no chance here. Finally the Flying on the Carrion Shade can be seen at work.

Level 1 Back to Basics Thaddius mirror. Here the Carrion Shade is pure meat shield, but does a good job at that.

The invincible Carrion Shade tank! A miss even. Thaddius schools Obsidian. Counter much?

Thaddius beats Kelya in Earthquake. The Carrion Shade goes down straight away but soaks a vital hit from the angry Deeplurker.

Another loss for the Carrion Shade sadly. A very close battle, though. Tarsa is slightly better here than Thaddius.

Level 3 Carrion Shade's Flying is crucial in this Level 2 Thaddius victory over Level 2 Obsidian. Battle of the healing tank too: Xenith Monk versus Flesh Golem.

Extremely close one here. Drake with Black cards beats Tarsa. Under Holy Protection and with the summoner buff, the Carrion Shade soaks four hits here. Impressive.
