I was sitting in my math’s class waiting for it to be over. It was a very tiring day and all I wanted was my bed. Just ten minutes before the scheduled end time our math’s teacher finished and said "Children if you have any doubt please ask me and continue disturbing me until all your doubts are clear because I wish to justify my salary".
He further explained that every one of us does some work or the other which we are paid for. When a teacher is given a job it becomes his/her duty to deliver the knowledge he/she has been appointed for and if he/she does not do so he/she fails to justify his/her salary. Similarly when a parent pays a considerable part of his income to educate his child then that fees which the parent pays is the child's salary. If the child does not work hard, if the child does not produce results up to his potential, if the child overlooks the pains taken by his parent and fails to perform his duties. He does not justify his salary.
Justifying one’s salary is not just about the money that is involved. It is about the duty that is to be performed. This life is a play. Everyone cannot have the main role but no matter how minor the role it is as important as the main one. Perform your part well because no matter how small the part it matters.
If in your life you do not inculcate a habit of justifying your salary you might earn lots of money but you'll never be able to earn respect. Think who your employer is. What salary is he paying you and are you actually justifying your salary. Be loyal to your employer and no matter what role you play you will be regarded as a respectable man.
