Hello, all of my friends of the Hive Universe. How are you all? I hope you are all well by the grace of the Almighty. I am also fine.Today I want to share with you all about "Peyara Makha". It is called "spiced guava slices" or "spiced mashed guava" in English. It is a unique South Asian street food. It is made by mixing chopped or mashed guava with green chilli or chilli powder, salt, and other spices. In Bangladesh, it is found as a street food, and we can also make it at home. I made it at home. Now I start to write about it. 馃槉
My mother-in-law knew that I like to consume guava. So, she bought it for me. I was happy to see that she bought it for me. Honestly, I started liking to consume guava because of its health benefits. It is a good source of vitamin C.
At first, I washed the guava very well. Then I chopped it into slices. Moreover, I chopped green chili into round shapes. Furthermore, I took a tamarind piece and removed the upper hard surface of the tamarind and got 3 pieces of pulp.
Furthermore, I took a small pot and took little quantity of water and put the three tamarind pulps in it. After sometimes, the pulp became properly wet, and I mashed it with water to make tamarind juice.
All things were arranged, and I was going to give the final touch by preparing spiced guava slices. At first, I took some pink salt and put it in the green chili and mashed it. Moreover, I put it on the guava plate and also added tamarind juice. Then mixed it well. Then I tasted it. Everything was okay. But it was a little bit spicier. So, I added one spoon of sugar to it and mixed it well. When I tested second time, it was okay. Generally, I don't use sugar to make. That day was exceptional because it was too spicy. Without adding sugar, it also tastes sweet because of its natural sweetness.
If you want to add other spices, you can. But I like to consume guava this way. It tasted spicy, sweet, and sour all together. As you can see in my guava plate, there were two spoons; it is because I was invited by a friend of mine. Her name is Mim. My husband's cousin's sister.
I called Mim to consume the guava that I made. She ate it and said it was her first time consuming guava with tamarind juice. I said I like to eat it with tamarind juice; that's why I added it. She said the taste is different but tasty to eat. I was glad that she liked it.
Benefits of guava fruits :
Guava is a fruit that contains a greater amount of vitamin C than citrus fruits like oranges. It also contains potassium, which helps regulate blood pressure. It has high dietary fiber from the flesh and seeds to aid digestion.
