Pride is a very important topic we'll be discussing today, this is because pride is a kind of feeling people derive from their own satisfied achievements. The achievement makes so many people go crazy and never want to be corrected or even get any opinion from others whom they look to be inferior. For me coming up with the ideas about pride, I noticed it's the key to the destruction of man if not controlled. Pride is a very dangerous feeling that most people are not aware of even those who exhibit the character are not even aware of their actions or behavior. Those who are said to have pride in them can lose a job opportunity, lover, or leadership opportunity, and can even lose their life.
A lot of people are talented, wealthy, leaders, professionals, and many more. When such people look at what they have achieved, they think they own the whole world, and as such, no other person exists except those in the same class or level as them. When you are too proud of what you have, people around you become tired and may want to live you, even destroy the key contribution of your achievement, or may even kill you. Pride has rendered a lot of people down to square one just because they feel others don't exist. People living with pride forget that there's nothing they have achieved that has not been achieved by others. This is the reason they should learn how to accommodate others.
Pride is more in the royal or rich people, this is because they feel they have all it takes to live life comfortably and no other person can control them. Most rich people look at the poor to be inferior to them, just because they feel nothing good can come out of them. Don't forget as you are rich that life is turn by turn and those who you are looking down on will surely get to your stage. I can remember when I visited a relaxation center years ago, I mistakenly sat where I didn't know I should. When the person that was supposed to be sited there came in, I stood up for her and cleaned the sit. But the lady questioned me why did I have to sit down where she was supposed to be sitting, when I wanted to say sorry, the lady slapped me twice. The lady said to me that I have no right to sit down where she was supposed to sit and that we were not on the same level of life. Still on that, the lady ordered her bodyguards to beat me up and send me out of the hall. This was how I was embarrassed and promised myself that one day I'll be rich but not to be proud of what I'll have.
In the school system, most teachers are too proud of themselves not to be corrected by their students. Teachers who are too proud of their knowledge don't go far in teaching because they are only limited by what they know. Some teachers see their students as a nobody. Back then in the University, we were doing a particular practical course. At the rival of the final result for the practical, the lecturer gave a wrong result. After a while, I reviewed the result that the lecturer gave and discovered it was wrong. I gave out the correct answer to the class, but the lecturer rejected it and told the class that nobody has the capacity to teach whenever he's still in the class, and besides what does the class know to the extent of correcting him? Because the lecturer was too proud of himself, I took the issue to the Head of the Department who confirmed that the result I came up with was correct. I know that a lot of lecturers out there are too proud of their teaching and never want to be corrected by a student. Teachers should be aware that when they teach, they also learn.
If you are the type that lives with pride, you stand no chance of learning new things. This is because you are too proud of yourself not to ask questions from people that know more than you even when you make mistakes. Don't feel too big to ask questions about what you don't understand. A lot of people in society find it difficult to learn skills. This is because they are too proud of themselves. Such people don't want to answer anyone sir at the cost of their learning from their master. They prefer to remain unskillful than to answer anyone, sir. When you're humble to learn, others in the future will also be humble to you. Bring down your pride and learn from others.
