Some say you can run a Hive witness node on a Raspberry Pi but that is not confirmed and they have become relatively expensive compared to other single board computers. You can certainly run a Hive witness

While you can get a passport to many countries without ever going there, and some may allow you to vote without going there, this is not the big issue. The big issue is TAX! Most countries on Earth will

Great work. This is very useful. The only thing missing is automation to harvest automatically each week.

Glad to see you back and healthy.

Nice to see you back blogging. Keep it up.

Dr Zubrin points out that there will be 2nd hand Starships available for purchase at a price that 30-40 families could afford. They pay for some deliveries of all the basics to a new location (perhaps

Money is a crucial civilisational technology. It solves the double coincidence of wants problem and enables specialisation and commerce. A self-sustaining Martian civilisation is impossible without it.

That is so cool! I might try it out.

Congrats on you 10 years on Hive and thanks for this interesting post. I had heard about the French fires but didn't know much about them. So sad that off-grid independent thinkers were so badly affected.

Pity you can't run it on your own local AI.

Great tool. I wanted to put all my Hive posts into a RAG for my local AI to access and this makes it easy. Thanks

Before the fork from the legacy chain you needed serious server hardware to run a witness node. Steem Inc made a few efforts to reduce this as they were running out of money before they sold out. Later,

The Hive price would need to drop 100x for being a top 20 witness, running a witness node not to be profitable. Witness nodes run the blockchain. API nodes are used by front ends to access the blockchain.

The vast majority of blockchains are not financially self-sufficient. By this I mean that they can't continue to run without external funding (foundations, VCs etc). Bitcoin and HIVE are self sustaining.

How does it work? How do you read it? What is 0.0?
