My name is Wilson Alexander, a corp of serving in Jada, Adamawa State, Nigeria. As corp members, we are called to render service to the communities that we are posted to and not expect anything in return. If volunteering to contribute to the group of the nation into a transformation that we all desire to see in our dear country.
I went this route of introduction because of what I will share with you today and beyond, I will be sharing my experiences in my place of service for the next few months because I have about 8 months to be done.

So today I want to share a project that my group did. In Jada, we are shared into three groups, I happened to fall under Agro Allied/environment community development services and we are responsible for keeping the environment clean and safe.

So we decided to embark on a project to control erosion and flooding. There have been recent threats of flooding in the state, some parts of the state have actually been experiencing flooding because of blockage of water channels. Here in Jada town, we saw a blocked gutter and so we decided to clear it.

It was a really hectic work to do because we are few in number and the work was really huge, we started the work at about 9 am and ended it at about 12pm.

So that's me and my colleague, coming down to the venue, we met some community members and they helped us with wheel barrows to aid in transporting the sand to dump it in the right place because we can't leave them on the road. From left to right, Myself, Corper Adamu, corper Jummoh, corper Mercy.

Work is ongoing, there was division of labor, and the work was going on very smoothly. I loved the coordinatiom we took together in achieve this goal.

Corper Blessing, she doesn't like hard work but she bent her back to pit hands with us, it's actually a good turn around for most of us. This is her quota.
