I'm not the sentimental type to lose my mind when I see an animal is harmed or killed, but I believe as a specie, we humans often go too far with how we treat other animals.
I wouldn't want to feed the attention hungry animal extremists like PETA either, it's possible the this is one of their own handy work too. but somebody is doing such a thing and somebody must point it out.
I understand the situations that we need or prefer to kill, but setting it up as a torture device and taking pictures to show the world, reveals a level of cruelty that exceeds normal human levels and goes into mental illness realm.
plus, it's on the wrong side of the chain and he have to pedal backwards, the zip-ties will get stuck in the gear too, I would use plastic wrap or a simple thread.
