With the deep blue of the sea as a backdrop, I’d like to take you all on a tour of the Sabang Fair area. While the previous part covered the entrance gate and the park's atmosphere, this time I want to show you what I consider the most beautiful spot: the section of the Sabang Fair that faces directly out toward the open sea.

I am delighted to continue the story of my journey exploring the Sabang Fair area. In my previous post, I shared details about the entrance gate and the gardens within the complex; this time, I invite you all to see what I personally consider the most beautiful view: the section of the Sabang Fair that faces directly out toward the open sea.

To be honest, I initially thought Sabang Fair was just a field with old exhibition buildings; I was proven wrong, however, once I explored the area more thoroughly and discovered a stunning, calming view of the deep blue sea hidden beyond it.
In this blog post, my journey begins as I walk out of the park area; within minutes, the atmosphere shifts completely. Gone is the park scenery dominated by trees; instead, I am greeted by strong sea breezes and the sound of waves—soft yet distinct. Here are a few of the first photos I took while in the area.
Now, let’s explore this area further. I came across a monument topped with several directional signs; it stands on a base paved with natural stone-patterned tiles—a simple design, yet one I find incredibly photogenic.

The monument stands tall against a dramatic, overcast sky, with the boundless open ocean stretching out behind it. It seems to serve as a silent witness to the fact that this is the westernmost point of Indonesia—a place where I can gaze out at the wider world.
I stood beside it for quite some time, and here are a few photos I captured of this iconic monument.
This is the atmosphere and scenery I encountered while exploring the Sabang Fair area, which offers a sweeping view of the open sea.

A vast expanse of ocean stretches out endlessly along the roadside, displaying beautiful color gradations near the rocky shoreline;
the water is a clear turquoise, shifting to a light blue the further out one looks.
Across the water, I could clearly see the silhouettes of the mountains on Weh Island—surrounded by smaller islets and covered in dense forest—beneath a sky where wispy clouds hung suspended. The sky was a brilliant blue, almost cloudless at times; I felt truly fortunate to experience such pleasant weather while exploring this area.
From the Sabang Fair area—featured in the photos I’ve shared—I’ve learned something important: this isn't merely a venue for major events or an open space for the local community; it is a place that holds many different facets.
So, to all my friends in this beloved community: if you ever find yourselves vacationing on Weh Island, I highly recommend taking the time to visit and explore this spot. Believe me, once you arrive, you will experience a sense of peace that is hard to find anywhere else.
