Discovering a Hidden Paradise Atop the Hill // The Charm of Cot Seuribee View Point 馃搷 (Part 2)
Sometimes, we don't plan anything special鈥攚e simply set off, driven only by curiosity. That was exactly the case when I vacationed on Weh Island and witnessed a breathtaking view while passing through and exploring the Cot Seuribee View Point area in Sabang.

Pulau Weh (Weh Island) is located at the westernmost tip of Indonesia and is one of the most beautiful places in Sumatra鈥攆eaturing everything from Iboih Beach and the famous "0 km" Monument to various other tourist destinations. However, the Cot Seuribee area offers a unique vibe, characterized by a quiet and peaceful atmosphere.
To be honest, this wasn't a lavish trip; it was just an ordinary day spent at a Sabang viewpoint. Yet, it remains a memorable highlight of my vacation to Pulau Weh鈥攁 day that reminded me how nature has its own way of healing and providing profound tranquility amidst the busyness of life. While exploring and traveling around Weh Island a few months ago, I passed through the Cot Seuribee area. The journey offered scenery that never grew tiresome; lush forests greeted me on both the left and right sides of the road. Personally, I found the air there wonderfully cool, and I really enjoyed the smooth, winding road that occasionally rose and fell with the terrain.
Although the area is situated amidst a tropical forest鈥攃reating a secluded atmosphere鈥攖hat very solitude offered a unique sense of tranquility.
Here are some photos I took while in the area; through these images, you can get a sense of the peaceful atmosphere that defines this part of the journey.
Another remarkable experience while traveling through this area is encountering its diverse flora and fauna鈥攕pecifically primates. You can see some photos I took of the primates I came across along the road in the Cot Seuribe area.

One crucial rule to follow when passing through this area is that visitors must not feed the wildlife. Feeding the animals found along the road can disrupt their natural wild instincts, causing them to become dependent on visitors for food.
After passing through the tropical forest area, I spotted a simple structure鈥攖he main feature of the Cot Seuribee tropical forest zone鈥攌nown as the Cot Seuribee Viewpoint.

Being there, I was struck by the profound tranquility of the place; there was no music, no crowds鈥攐nly the sound of the wind rustling through the trees and the distant, rolling crash of the waves. From atop the hill, I could take in a breathtaking view: a perfect blend of forest and the open sea.
Personally, I didn't do much here鈥攏o long hikes or elaborate picnics鈥攂ut I did take a moment to simply sit and chat with friends, sharing a few laughs as we shivered slightly in the cool tropical forest air. You can see the area's beauty in the photos I鈥檝e shared above. What I love most about this place is how it reminds me that happiness doesn't have to be expensive; you don't need to travel abroad or visit a fancy resort. Sometimes, all it takes is enjoying a simple spot that offers a wonderful atmosphere and stunning scenery. In my opinion, this place is truly one of the hidden gems of Weh Island.
