Today one of the biggest social problems is cyberbullying, a problem that affects young people of all ages as well as people around the victim, being very important I will talk about my opinion about it and if you are one of those who think this is fun, I invite you to see the bottom of the post.

¿What is cyberbullying?

The normal definition would be, is all kinds of harassment, disclosure of false or confidential information occurred in electronic media, this can affect different groups of young people whether they are teenagers or not, all this has become a virus in society that has caused all kinds of problems to them and their parents.

¿Is it possible not to be a victim?

We are all human beings so that everyone has their faults, although the stalkers look for the most vulnerable, it is possible that it happens to anyone, many times we wonder if this is our fault and the answer is no, just because you are vulnerable that does not make you less than others so do not blame yourself and close yourself to others, talk and tell your story that you will surely be heard.

¿How to avoid cyberbullying?

One way to avoid this is not to post sensitive information on our social networks and to keep our group of friends closed to just acquaintances. For parents a serious way not to give smartphones or access to social networks to children under 13-15 years of age, social networks and phones are tools to communicate with the world if you do not have a mature mentality the child could easily be harassed or worse.

¿How do you deal with it?

Just ignore it and if it doesn't work face it, with good energy and positivity, don't be bitter about what others are saying because you know the truth and can't let them break you down so my advice would be to be strong and face the problem.

Self-esteem:

Stalkers tend to attack your biggest flaws but before that you must have great self-esteem to tell them:

¡And that's what matters!

The way you see yourself has a lot of influence, if you have low self-esteem you should remember that everyone has their defects but also their attributes that make you remember them will make you feel a greater self-esteem.

¡Speak up!

If you are a victim of cyberbullying you must talk, staying quiet is the worst thing you can do, although it is difficult to talk to your parents or superiors regardless of your age may be difficult but it is more difficult to carry it all yourself, remember that you are not alone may seem like that, but if you look up from the darkness you see that there will be people willing to give you a hand and get up.

About the victims:

They are comprised of young people of all ages, most of them with a complicated family history and self-esteem problems, often victims of bullying as well as cyberbullying, all victims react differently to bullying but one thing is constant: they all close themselves off from the world and begin to have a great depression, other of the most common reactions are:

  • Low grades or poor job performance.

  • Confidence and withdrawal problems.

  • Feeling of paranoia and persecution.

  • Bad mood and rude attitude towards parents or teachers.

  • Self-mutilation.

  • Stress or anxiety

  • Among others.

About the stalker:

Abusers are often people with a complicated family history and who may have been harassed in the past as well, many have different motivations but among the most important are some:

  • Feeling of power over the victim.

  • Loving obsession.

  • Sexual attraction (this being the most frequent).

  • I hate.

  • Jealousy.

  • Envy.

  • Revenge.

  • Inability to accept rejection.

  • Among others.

The witnesses:

Today we live in a society where social networks and telephones have a lot of influence on our daily lives while we live a daily life surrounded by them, so we can be easily manipulated with them, all because we believe that all the information you see on the Internet is true, there are different types of witnesses among them are:

  • Buddies: are the abuser's friends and serve as his or her helpers to spread defamation and further damage the victim emotionally.

  • Reinforcers: They are not part of the aggression, but they are still watching, approving and inciting.

  • Outsiders: In my opinion they are the worst, they observe the harassment in a neutral way and do nothing to prevent it.

  • Advocates: They are the ones who support the victim of the harassment, they can be their relatives or close friends, they are important to avoid that the victim does not fall into a terrible depression.

Message for the stalker:

Your childhood may have been difficult, but I ask you, do you really feel better about harassing others?A good friend I appreciate very much told me recently that my attitude was that of a stalker, I think he is right about what I want to change, you may not want to but that does not mean you should not, so I just ask you to think for a moment how people feel when things and invade their privacy, it will not be an easy way but I assure you that when you get to the end you will be happy.

Message for the victim:

As I said before, don't be quiet and above all remember that it's not your fault so you shouldn't feel bad about what others say about you, once I made the big mistake of following her a joke that my classmates made to me and that event came out terrible, I couldn't articulate my thoughts but then a colleague told me that it didn't matter and after confronting my aggressor I had the courage to go on, it may be difficult but not impossible. I can assure you that if you face your aggressor you will feel better and if the aggressor is anonymous, contact the authorities so that they can track him/her down and arrest him/her.

Well that's all for now put your stories and all the suggestions to expand this article further, remember a grain of sand shapes a beach, spread the word and re-test it as much as you can and get our message across to everyone we can, let's stop this now!
