Easter Island is famous for its 887 monumental human statues, called moai, which were created by the early Rapa Nui people. Easter Island is situated in the Pacific Ocean west of Chile, at the southeastern most point of the Polynesian Triangle. The moai鈥檚 were created mainly from volcanic ash and basalt.
