One thing I think couples should do more from is have a weekly check-in and that isn't about views, what children or what needs fixing around the house.
Just ask each other, what did I do this week that made you feel loved?
Ask the other one, what did I do that made you feel a little less loved?
And listen to the answers without getting offensive.
Then maybe end with the phone question, what did I do this week that made you really want to be with me. Knowing how your partner and your kids feel about you really helps to build the family and strong bonds together.
