Hello to the entire Amazing Nature family... good morning. One of the things I enjoy daily, whether I'm out for a walk, exercising, or running errands, is exploring the paths of my plains town and feasting my eyes on the natural landscapes. Seeing the trees, which were leafless months ago, turn green again, and watching the little animals come out to explore the plants, among the birds and insects, is emotionally restorative. The latter are sometimes difficult for me to capture with my lens... I'm referring to those that fly, like butterflies. Capturing the image of a butterfly is an art that requires a lot of patience, and I admire those who manage it. I think I've succeeded a couple of times.
I have several images of animal species saved that I'll describe in detail later, such as the case of some hairy worms that always appear during this rainy season. I found them near some plants and also climbing a wall. Another thing I've been trying to catch for weeks is a family of peacocks at a mansion near where I train. One day I saw one of them in all its glory, but I was in a car and couldn't get a picture. I've been waiting for that moment ever since. For now, I've only managed to get photos of the flock. I'm only going to show you one because I'm saving the others for a future post, both of the caterpillar and the peacocks.
A pleasant surprise I had a few days ago was that the pair of sheep next door already have a family. And everyone thought the female was a male sheep, but no, she's a sheep, but with a very even temperament. I've tried many times to get her to come closer, and no way, she always has that sour, distrustful look on her face, watching me from afar but never coming over. The male sheep, though, he comes, he approaches, he lets me pet him. He's an adorable, affectionate rascal.
The truth is, Mrs. Sheep has had a lamb since last month, and we didn't know until they let it out to pasture with its parents. Although the baby prefers to seek its mother's teat, which is tastier than that pile of straw. I loved seeing them pose for the camera like a truly close and happy family. All three of them are adorable.
Regarding the hairy caterpillars, which I'll talk about later, I confess that even though they're tiny things, I felt a chill while photographing them. I had an unpleasant experience with a very hairy green one when I was little. I liked to climb mango trees, and there were many at our family's house. It happened that when I put my hand on the trunk of the tree to hold on, I felt a kind of burning sensation on my fingers, and at the same time, I saw the little creature fall to the ground, curled up. It was a fairly large, light green, hairy caterpillar. I fell to the ground behind him, and luckily I hadn't climbed very high, so I only landed hard on my bottom. But my toes swelled up and hurt terribly. I started screaming and crying for my aunt, and she explained what had happened. She put something on the burn, but I don't remember what it was. I must have been about 5 or 6 years old at the time. And yes, I was incredibly restless, hahaha. That's why I'm a bit wary of these little animals.
Well, I'll say goodbye after showing you some of my nature photographs, including animal and plant species. I hope you like them... they were all taken in Mesa de Guanipa, a plains region in Anzoátegui state. Thanks for visiting my blog.
