Health is the most precious thing you have. If it's something you've always had, you tend to take it for granted, unnoticed. I had health for a long time, lived without pain, without exhaustion. I made a conscious choice to eat only vegetarian (and vegan) foods, thinking this would be the best way to maintain my health.

I didn't stay healthy though.

For many years, I blamed other things for the stiffness, pains and anxiety. The job was too stressful. It's the kids! My life was out of balance. I'm buying the wrong supplements. I'm just getting older. If I could just achieve this or that. I needed to try harder, go cleaner. This level of denial lasted a loooong time.

Like a battery that was running out of power, my mind started to fade, a misty fog obscured everything. I was exhausted and anxious. My body started to seize up, joints aching, I could hardly move without wincing with pain. I started to look into buying a mobility scooter! No amount of medication brought relief. I was crippled – mentally and physically – and had to retire from work.

I had forgotten what it was to be pain free.

I had forgotten what it was to be not tired.

I searched for advice everywhere, desperate. Eventually, after extensive research, I grew to realise I had done this to myself, denying my body the essential nutrients.

I reintroduced meat and other animal products and noticed immediate improvement. Then I started on RAW milk and cream and eggs. After a short while, I came off all the pain meds and brain zappers. I could move again, without pain! There was a renewed sense of optimism. I started to feel 'happy'.

I've still got a little way to go. Seventeen years of nutritional abuse doesn't clear up overnight, but I'm well on my way.

Health must always come first.

Yay! :D
