With her usual cup of coffee, she visualized the talk and the act of handing in the notice. On this day changes will start. This morning she will jump into metro to get to work, instead of usual train drive. She drifted in her imagination and became braver than ever before. Dressed provocatively for work, placed headphones on her head and pushed play. Calming classical music started to fill her mind and heart with ease. Entering the metro, not giving any thought or notice to people around her while they are rushing to their works and problems. The music turned from classical to hard metal while metro rushed through the tunnels. Her heart started pumping faster, filling with adrenaline as her work stop got closer and closer. This wasn’t unfamiliar feeling for her, it was a felling now present only in memories. This was the feeling she felt in her every match as the full time was closing. Only the injury made that feeling more distant than she ever thought it will. Walking through the entrance of her work, she felt everyone’s eyes on her. The clothes worked, she thought to herself proudly. She handed the notice to her boss with an attitude of cocky young manager ready to conquer the world. At that point her alarm for work rang, rousing her from her visualization.

Now it was time to take the white pill and do everything according to plan. She knew perfectly what she had to do, there is only one problem and it was the white pill. Fear she felt at the moment gave birth to, last thing she needed now, suspicion and insecurity. “If I take just one white pill it won’t push me enough to execute the plan. Maybe it’s better to leave the changes for another day and survive this one in the usual routine?” She spoke out loud to herself. “But I visualized everything, and I can do it exactly like planed.” Answered to her own question. This was a start of an argue between insecure and determined persona. “My pill supplier gave a white powder as well, for lifechanging moments. If this wasn’t one of them I don’t know what is.” She finally smiled. “Yea, I’ll take the white powder instead. Just place it on the tip of your tongue and it’ll take you to Mt. Everest and back, said the supplier. And that’s exactly what I’ll do.” Encouraged with the self-talk, and the white powder she went to work. When she handed the notice, it really felt like she was on Mt. Everest. Supplier didn’t lie, she thought to herself. Relief that she doesn’t have to come to that place was mixed with excitement of year full of travels in front of her.

On a way home, she made a stop to see her supplier. Thanking him for the powder, she wanted to know the secret behind it. He told her with kind smile – “Placebo effect is the best thing anyone can experience. It was just your regular white pill.”
