In the past few days I've come to understand some of the reasons Steemit has not been 'improved' in a way that so many users have been crying out for... Seems to me, that the product is one in which could be very lucrative for it's creators/developers if they would allow it to be placed into the 'right' hands...
Ned has indicated that his initial vision for Steem is contrary to the direction it began to head, and 'Steemit' in particular has become the steem blockchains biggest headache, and detrimental to his vision/mission...
I can't knock a guy for loosing interest in a project he was a major part of from it's inception...hell...I've lost my interest in 'plenty' of things I began in my many years on this planet. Some of those things I lost interest in were things that I initially was most excited about too. When the excitement ebbed...the enjoyment faded. When the enjoyment faded...the project became a 'chore'; whereas in the past, it didn't even feel like work.
So...I understand Ned almost choking on the 'word' steemit during his last video presentation; it's become a psychological drain upon him. He seems to want steemit to 'just go away'...
In Ned's eyes...he probably views steemit as 'the Monster...he created'...
"It's Alive...It's Alive...AHHhhhhhhh.........
Anyway...One of my thoughts/questions is... Since this 'monster' still has the breath of life in it, and a lot of us still love it; can't you just turn it over to some people who want it, and seem well able to not just keep it alive, but keep it growing and prospering? There must be a way...even a way in which 'you' can still benefit from up the road.
I'm sure that there must be some devs/witnesses etc. that would love the opportunity to turn this thing called Steemit into the best Blogging/Social Media site...NO...??? Come on Ned...think about it...give it a shot...Figure out an escape plan, and take it.
