These days I earn so little from Steemit.
My upvotes are received mostly from newbies (Thank you, you know who you are!). Not to simply give a pat on my back, I am pretty sure my writing is not that bad too.
But, I am NOT alone. I have seen some talented newbies having tough time getting upvotes too. And knowing newbies, their steem power is relatively super small to upvote others.
So how can we help one another grow and possibly earn better?
I have heard about the Powering Up part, perhaps there is some truth there. Will read up more on this.
And just to understand what kind of postings gets good upvotes, I then glanced and read through other steem posts from steemit. Some posting, as simple as just a normal question gets high upvotes. Some write lengthy postings gets good upvotes too.
I understand that everyone has a certain preference for articles that they read but do you know that you also get certain people that will continue upvoting for you even if your postings are meh?
It’s true! Not sure whether it is intentional or bots works but yes you will see name names pops up in the votes. And you get more votes from those whose Steem Power is really power (so the power up steem have some truth).
But some Steemians with powerful Steem Power only upvote certain Steemians they like, how? Lols.
Anyways, for some of us ladies, knowing that most of us are pretty new to the platform, we recently set up a Whatsapp group and use the group chat to exchange links (for upvote support of course!) and to post up questions about steemit that we are not sure about.
It’s a great move nonetheless, although the upvotes are still small we will continue to support one another.
Oh by the way, I just learnt something new today, upvote new posting 30 minutes after they are posted. It was said that all curation rewards earned by voting in the first 30 minutes after a post is made will be shared with the author.
So, if you vote immediately after a posting is made, then 99.94% of the curation reward will go to the author. If you vote after the 15 minutes mark, then 50% will go to the author. Any votes made 30 minutes or later, then 100% reward will go to the curator. This only applies to the curation rewards while the author still gets at least 50% from the total rewards.
I also learnt something about putting the right hashtags. So I am putting them below just to test if they really work. I will let you know in the next post if this experiment works.
