Hello folks!
It's a beautiful, beautiful, sunny day in Suriname and I'm just sitting at my desk studying Topology.
Topology is a subject we've been following at the University for a while now and to be honest, I find it quite difficult. Especially since my first language is Dutch and I do a lot of math practice in Dutch. But the Topology books are almost all in English and although I can read, write and understand English; practicing mathematics in English is different. So it takes a bit more time to analyze everything properly. But I'm sure with extra practice I can get through it. I do believe in myself.
I made an overview for myself of my results so far and of the subjects I still have to do: I still have 8 exams to do in October and another 4 in December. And then I have to write my thesis. Then I can start calling myself a Bachelor in Mathematics. I can't wait for that day.😄
But as they say: your goal is not everything, the journey towards it is more important. So I try to gain as much knowledge as possible and I try to enjoy my days. I also try to be creative. I left my math youtube channel behind for a very long time, so I'm going to pick it up again. Also my tiktok account with math videos and facts is very quiet for a while. I have a lot to pick up again.
Besides everyday activities, I try to meditate daily. The last three or four days I've noticed that I can focus better and better and I also understand my school material faster.
Meditating also helps a lot to let go and that's nice. Letting go og things and healing is very important in life I think.
Sometimes I see people around me who desperately need to heal from all the pain and suffering they are going through, but they don't realize it. Or they refuse to accept that they need to work on themselves. They think they are perfect. And I find that the more I work on my own character and life, the more I avoid people like this. It's important to put ourselves in the right circles and among the right people.
