📷 Double Anniversary - already for the 7th time

Hello dear friends,

And yet another year has passed. What year, you may be wondering. Well, I registered on this platform, which had a different name back then, on 17 May 2017. As this birthday coincides with my real birthday with a one-day difference, I celebrate a double birthday every year, so to speak.

Hallo liebe Freunde,

und schon wieder ist ein Jahr vergangen. Welches Jahr, fragt ihr Euch jetzt vielleicht. Nun, ich hatte mich am 17. Mai 2017 auf dieser Plattform, die damals noch einen anderen Namen hatte, registriert. Da dieser Geburtstag mit einem Tag Differenz mit meinem echten Geburtstag zusammenfällt, feiere ich jedes Jahr sozusagen einen doppelten Geburtstag.

And what a turbulent year it has been. So today I'm only going to focus on the good things. The beautiful and simple things even. As you know, I recently got a new bike. I've already completed the first 800 kilometres on it and I have to say I'm still completely satisfied. Well, almost completely. I'm still looking for the optimum riding position. But it's getting better and better. I'll get there..._

Und was war das wieder für ein turbulentes Jahr. Daher widme ich mich heute nur den schönen Dingen. Den schönen und einfachen Dingen sogar. Wie ihr wißt, habe ich seit kurzem ein neues Bike. Damit habe ich bereits die ersten 800 km absolviert und ich muß sagen, ich bin immer noch restlos begeistert. Naja, fast restlos. Ich tüftele noch an der optimalen Sitzposition. With the new bike, it's definitely a lot of fun to ride off-road. Tarmac is too good for that. And what wonderful nature we have here in Tauber (river) Franconia.

Mit dem neuen Rad macht es auf jeden Fall richtig Spaß ins Gelände zu fahren. Asphalt ist daüfr zu schade. Und was haben wir hier in Tauberfranken doch für eine wundervolle Natur.

The rape fields are probably no longer yellow. Everything is already a deep green colour. The wild garlic season is already over. Instead, there is a lot of garlic root.

Die Rapsfelder sind mittlerweile wohl schon nicht mehr gelb. Jetzt ist bereits alles im tiefsten grün gehalten. Die Bärlauchzeit ist schon wieder passé. Dafür gibt es Knoblauchsrauke in Hülle und Fülle.

But luckily our beautiful outdoor pool is open again. And even the weather is reasonably good this year, as it was far too cold for the pool at the same time last year. The bathing lakes are already at a pleasant temperature - and the water quality is excellent. Yesterday evening I went for a long swim in the lake. Marvellous. It should always be like this...

Aber zum Glück hat unser schönes Freibad bereitst wieder auf. Und sogar das Wetter spielt dieses Jahr mit, denn letztes Jahr war es erst einnmal a.....kalt. Die Badeseen haben ebenfalle bereits eine angenehme Temperatur - noch dazu bei bester Wasserqualität. Gestern Abend bin ich noch ausgiebig im See schwimmen gegangen. Herrlich. So müsste es immer sein...

That's why I try to enjoy the moment. This also allows me to forget how quickly time flies. Somehow time seems to be running faster and faster. A lot of people feel that way. You too?

Daher versuche ich den Moment zu genießen. Somit kann ich auch verdrängen, wie schnell die Zeit vergeht. Irgendwie scheint die Zeit immer schneller zu rennen. Sehr viele empfinden das so. Ihr auch?
