I saw an addiction in a wheel chair
Outside a shop
It had a name
Friend
The addiction consumed
Injecting cancer deep into lungs
And its name
Exhaled
Sucking the chemical toxic
Into its toilet strewn physique
Always aware of self
Not always aware it’s weak
Nor considering its offspring
Soon to be bereaved
The consuming addiction
Needs to be seen
To be believed
And the name
Dies anyway soon
