It was a song released in January 1985, as part of her album "like a virgin" with a video very inclined to the 50's specifically in the golden age of Marilyn Monroe, the song talks about a girl who likes a life of luxury and ambitions and is after the man who can give her a wealthy life without risks, basically that can buy diamonds and furs.
Although in the video you can see how she ends up being a disinterested girl and where the lover, who in this case is the director, needs to pretend to be poor to win her heart because she just wants to experience a romance.
For this illustration I worked with a color palette in warm tones, between pink and strong red, an application of crystals in addition to start working with full eyes, this does not mean that I will leave my previous style which was to leave these in white as a symbol of mystery, yes or that I will be more versatile and I will play with both.
Recently I work with a sketch layer in a solid color as the base of the skin and then I integrate a range of colors that I blend and mix to the initial color to create the depth and lights in the initial stage, after that I add with airbrush the construction of the skin, I usually follow the steps as in traditional makeup, it is as if I was doing my own makeup, only, in my illustrations, so the first thing I start to build is the face.
After giving it depth, I start with the beginning of the eyes, until I define a little, then the construction of the pupils and iris, characteristic feature of the queen of pop is her clear eyes between a mixture of blue and green, step in the work of lips, arranging the surface and exaggerating them a little, for that moment the artist wore them thinner and using a vibrant red color, for the hair a light brown base that would then be illuminated with blonde highlights.
My favorite part to make was the dress, gloves and jewelry, it's no secret that when I get to the glitter part I go crazy, I love with every particle of my being that part of the composition, so here I had to be ostentatious but elegant, in the end I wanted the illustration to be like the cover of a magazine or an album, and I added red hearts in the background, in reference to the music video.
